Milo Z is a high energy, super tight, original funky soul group straight out of New York City. The band is refined in all aspects. Their array of catchy songs, top-notch musicianship, flashy outfits, dance steps, and stage presence has been noticed both here and abroad gaining them cult followings throughout the East Coast and parts of Europe. The Village Voice raved: ..We're talking funk in the James Brown tradition here: the merging of elegance and raunch into a brassy, booty-shake review .. white-gloved showmanship, deep pocket grooves, and the classic JB drop-the-time-drop-a-dime tight musicianship...
Milo Z's biggest asset is the bands leader and frontman Milo Z himself. Milo was born and raised in the lower east side of Manhattan. At an early age he was exposed to the diverse cultural experiences that New York City has to offer giving Milo his own unique style, spirit, and attitude that has made him a top-notch frontman. Like James Brown he orchestrates his band into tight polished grooves, he choreographs dance steps, has signals to cue different rhythmic patterns, changes, and horn hits. Like Mic Jagger and Steven Tyler, Milo dances and struts, conveying his attitude, sexuality and sensuality to his audience. His connection with the audience is what is so impressive. Milo makes the audience part of the show: ..Make them dance, make them sweat, leave them longing for more.. is the band's motto.
Milo Z has released four CD's, the most recent is a double disc package with both a CD and a DVD. The release is entitled Milo Z - Up On The Hill, Live in Athens, Greece, and was filmed and recorded live last summer at the famous Lykabettus Theater atop La Cavitos in Athens, Greece. You can catch Milo Z's music on television and in film. His song DOG is featured in the Warner Brothers major motion picture See Spot Run and in the Baywatch episode ..Talk Show. Milo Z also has songs featured in films such as ..The Deli.. with Ice-T, David Johansen, and Mike Starr; ..Cupidity.. produced and directed by John Gallagher; and the recently completed documentary ..Still Doing It.. produced by Dierdre Fishel. Visitors to the Victoria's Secret website can catch a segment of the song ..Play Wit Me... Milo Z also appeared for one week as the house band on the Carson Daly show on NBC and he has been featured on ..Rhythm and Dues.. airing on The Metro Channel, the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon on WWOR UPN 9, and a music show on CN8 airing to over 8 million NJ/PA viewers.
