Description: Add another dimension to your playing as we break out of the strumming rut! We will study simple finger style patterns that are useful for melody, accompaniment and solo arranging. Open to all levels!

Intro To Swing Uke – The basics (make your campfire-folksy ukulele style swing!). We will take a familiar Swing tune and through the use of chord substitutions achieve a more swinging jazzy sound! If you can play basic ukulele chords and keep a steady tempo you are ready for this class.

Jim Beloff: (11:30-12:30pm)
Beginning Ukulele Workshop
Jim Beloff (Jumpin’ Jim songbooks; The Joy Of Uke DVDs) introduces you to the basics of playing the ukulele including holding, tuning, strumming and making the chords. We will play through a dozen well-known songs learning new chords, strums, tips and techniques along the way. Bring a GCEA soprano-tuned uke and be ready to have a lot of fun. At the end of the workshop you will have made a new life-long friend—your ukulele! See uke there!
