About me:
Hello thanks for stopping by! I’m Mimi Jefferson, my debut novel is called, The Single Sister Experiment: What Happens When Women Stop Having Sex. Can three single, ambitious party girls truly live a godly life? It’s another normal day in the lives of Joan, Tisha and Lila; that is, until they find themselves in an auditorium where their lives are forever changed. They embark on a journey where they attempt to give up sex and draw nearer to God, but giving up their boyfriends and club hopping for empty beds and Bible Study is more challenging than they ever imagined. Join the women on this drama filled ride as they face the demons of their pasts, and attempt to build new lifestyles. Will Joan, Tisha, and Lila succeed, will their friendship last, and can single women really stop having sex? Find out in The Single Sister Experiment. I have a B.S. in Christian Ministry from the College of Biblical Studies and I live in the Houston, TX area with my husband. JUST A CLOSER WALK WITH THEE
~
I am weak, but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
~
Refrain
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
~
Through this world of toil and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.
~
Refrain
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
~
When my feeble life is o’er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o’er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.
~
Refrain
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
“We also are weak in Him, yet by God’s power we shall live with Him. ” 2 Corinthians 13:4
Thank you for the add. I truly enjoyed your novel and so wish that I could have done this experiment some 15 years ago it would have saved me from a lot of heart ache and pain. This book will bless many and even though I am married I still took away something from this novel. Thank you for your ministry. God Bless
OK... I have finished reading The Single Sister Experiment and let me just say for any young single woman out there who have not read this book. You really need to put down all those romance novels filled with lust and all those things that we need not read and pick up this book. It is an excellent read!!! There were moments when I cried; others when I laughed, but overall being a more mature Christian woman, (yet, youthful) I could relate to everything that was said in this book. It is the best work of Christian fiction, that I have read thus far!!!
But, let me just address one point in saying that as a Christian, there is a difference between the office and the function of being called to minister. As followers of Jesus Christ we were all called to spread, share, minister (if you will) the Gospel of Jesus Christ. But, the office of a minister, preacher, pastor, reverend, deacon is held in reservation for a man, and a man alone!!! The Word of God gives strict guidelines for this!!!
But, on behalf of the book, I must say that the character of "Minister Makita" was in line in the fact that throughout, I noticed that she only taught and spoke to the women. And I just felt the need to point out that what I got from this particular issue where women in ministry are concerned is that Makita was over the "Women's Ministries, so please keep that in mind ladies, and for those that know me don't go saying that I believe in women preachers (smile)!!!
Love to all who read this
May God bless & keep you is my prayer, Sincerely, ~Succes Milan
"There comes a time in every woman's life when she has to take a close look at herself. Not at her circumstance, not at what she did, not how unfair life is, or not at whom made you do it. She has to just look at herself in all her glory and imperfection.
Have you ever admired a woman who has been through changes in her life? Or have you made up in your mind that she is just messed up. Before you make this mistake, take a closer look. A woman who has endured the most unusual life is someone of wisdom, someone who has been chosen by God to go through things that have made her stronger.
Think of all the great women in the bible: Mary Magdalene, Ruth and Naomi, the woman with an issue of blood flow, and Esther, to name a few. Mary was a prostitute, a very uneasy woman. But by the time Jesus was done with her, she was His closest follower. Esther was unfortunate in marrying an abusive man, but by the time God was done with her, she had married one of the wealthiest men in the land.
Women are so quick to beat the next one down instead of trying to hold her up. Before you wonder, "What's up with her?" ask yourself, "What's up with me?" That woman could be my mother, sister, aunt, in-law, stepmother, niece, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, friend, or co-worker, etc. That woman could be me. Women are the carriers of life, not the channels of death. Let's build and encourage each other, as did Ruth and Naomi.
Pass this to all the women in your life. Encourage and Love, Forgive and Forget, and trust that the woman that receives this will be touched in some way."
I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I have just began Chapter 8 of The Single Sister Experiment... There have been a few times when I have picked up a Christian fiction novel, only to find that the things within did not line up with the Word of God.
Understanding that it is fiction, is not a problem but when it begins to contradict what the Bible says it becomes a problem
Thus far, I have found everything in your book to be in line with what the Word of God says.
I am enjoying your book, and I am also very much considering recommending it as a group reading for the singles ministry at my church.
Having said all of this, I just want to send wishes your way for a great day!!!
May God bless & keep you is my prayer, Sincerely, ~Succes Milan
