  • Music

    Photobucket

This list is tough for me too because there are some bands/musiciands who I used to be SO into that I barely listen to anymore, such as Prince, but having said that, I will probably listen to Prince again tomorrow, but his old stuff.

Other musicians/bands I am into now or have been into at some point in my life, including my childhood & teen years & on (mostly in random order): Radiohead, Thom Yorke, Moby, Daft Punk, Cornelius, Pizzicato Five, Fantastic Plastic Machine, Cocteau Twins, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Tori Amos, Bebel Gilberto, Corey Glover, Flickerstick, Lily Allen, ABBA, The Bee-Gees, Stevie Wonder, Bic Runga, Stellar, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Annie Lennox, Michael Jackson (Off the Wall to Thriller days), The Cure, The Smiths, Morrissey, REM, Journey, Dee-Lite, U2, Earth Wind & Fire, Olivia Newton John, Jonathan Coulton, The B-52's, INXS, Book of Love, Salt n Pepa, George Michael, musicals and more musicals (Rent, Annie, Hair, A Chorus Line, etc.), dance music from my club days, The Sex Pistols (teen years, but now they only feel nostalgic), Doobie Brothers, The Carpenters, The Sundays, TLC, Arrested Development, The Police...

It's so funny when you're listing all this stuff and you think, "Oh my GOSH! How could I have almost forgotten about so-and-so?!?" Like, The Police are at the end of that list, as though they are the least favorite, although I should have thought of them from the top. Oh well, they can't ALL fit into the top line.

  • Movies

Lately, I have been hooked on documentaries more than ever. I try to rent "normal movies", but I tend to A-D-D on those too much. I get totally sucked into documentaries. Some of my most recent favorite documentaries: God Grew Tired of Us, The Lost Boys of Sudan, 51 Birch Street, The "Up" Series, Steal A Pencil for Me, Frontier House, Manor House...

Why not list off movies I loved back in my childhood / teen years too? I have loved all of the following movies at some point in my life, in no particular order: Muriel's Wedding, Little Miss Sunshine, Vacation, Office Space, Swing Kids, Life Is Beautiful, Airplane, The Breakfast Club, Stripes, Pretty Woman, American Movie, Chuck and Buck, A Christmas Story, Lady and the Tramp, Mary Poppins, Mommie Dearest, Coal Miner's Daughter, Annie, Back to the Future, Beaches, Best In Show, The Big One, Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine, The Bridges of Madison County, Clueless, The Color Purple, Devil's Playground, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Last American Virgin, Grease, Jackass, A League of their Own, Little Women, Speed, Poltergeist, Roger & Me, Silkwood, The Sixth Sense, Titanic, Before Sunrise

  • Television

I must say again, as I have said before lately - you must see "Flight of the Conchords" if you like to laugh.

I thought I stored away a previous list of favorites, but I can't find it so I'll have to start all over, even though I get bored with leaving my favorites up on this page.

Some of my favorite TV shows of all time along with some newer shows I am into - in no particular order: Leave it to Beaver,The Little Rascals, Three's Company, Little House On the Prairie, Christy, The Office, David Letterman, Ellen, Oprah, Freaks and Geeks (canceled show I only recently discovered), The Real World (I used to LOVE it back in the early days), Crank Yankers, The Amazing Race, The Biggest Loser, American Idol, Project Runway, Wife Swap, Seinfeld, Will & Grace, All In the Family, Double Trouble, WKRP, Sesame Street, The Electric Company, Mister Rogers, Captain Kangaroo, New Zoo Revue, That's Incredible, 120 Minutes, Queer Eye, Taxicab Confessions, The Brady Bunch, The View, Flip This/That House, How Clean is Your House, Coupling...

  • Books

Last book I read: The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

  • Heroes

People that have made me laugh: my family (my whole family, and that also includes my husband and dog, of course, who both make me laugh every day), my friends, John Hughes, David Letterman, Jim Gaffigan, Ellen DeGeneres, Kathy Griffin, Sacha Baron Cohen, John Ritter, Christopher Guest, David Sedaris, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Chris Farley, Will Farrel, Molly Shannon, Cheri Oteri, and some other members of Saturday Night Live: Eddie Murphy (back in the SNL and earlier days), Kevin Nealon (especially his subliminal stuff), Rachel Dratch (I LOVED Debbie Downer), Tracy Morgan (I loved when he sang to Britney Spears. I loved him even more as Spoonie Luv on Crank Yankers), Tina Fey ... I know there are more, but I don't have all day, kids. I'll come back to this at some point. My newest laughs are from Flight of the Conchords. There are other heroes I admire in addition to those who make me laugh, but I wanted to give props to laughter. It really is a great pill.

About me:

This whole page came to me organically. Just kidding. I only used the word "organically" once in that context and made myself cringe doing so. I promise, this is the last time.

What/who do I love? Funny people. Loving people. Peaceful people. People who can laugh at themselves. Myspace is a great outlet to be a total dweeb. Even using the word "dweeb" is so dweebish. "Dweebish" is dweebish too. DweebESQUE... now THAT's sexy.

Back to what I love. Diversity. I love to learn about all sorts of stuff and I love trying new stuff. Some of the stuff I am into: dancing, modern dance, salsa, merengue, tap dancing (well, really, I took tap lessons from age 3 up through my whole childhood, but today I rarely ever tap), camping, swimming, cooking, writing, MUSIC, singing, writing music, window shopping, beaches, mountains, nostalgia, vintage, antiques, the future, the present, studying Spanish, intending to study French again, COMEDY, gardening, and now I am getting bored with myself writing this. Maybe I will make up some sort of list of favorites in the "interests" section.

Who I'd like to meet:

Total goofballs. Even if you are a person who doesn't know me already and you live far, far away and you just want to add me as a friend just so you can shoot random goofy comments at me every now & then and you don't mind me shooting random goofy comments back at you, I'm totally up for it. You don't even have to introduce yourself first if you don't want to. You can just add me and then just randomly leave me a comment or you can even email me if you feel like it or whatever. "In real life", people are often afraid to introduce themselves & they don't have the opportunity to meet people from all over at random. That's what I like about MySpace.

I'm married, so I'm not looking for someone to play in "The Romper Room" with. But, I am a Sesame Street kind of gal, so that means that I like ALL kinds of people in the neighborhood to be friends with or to be a goofball with - whether you're blue like Grover or brown like Snuffy or yellow like Big Bird or you're a man like Mr. Hooper or a woman like Maria or you're into cookies like the the Cookie Monster or whether you have a partner like Bert & Ernie, it's all good in this neighborhood.
