Mindcage hails from the SF Bay Area of N. California, and have become well known in the international underground as an extremely promising US Melodic/Progressive Metal outfit. The band also bears the proud distinction of being well known in Europe as pioneers of the "New Wave of American Prog-Metal". It has been quite a ride on that debut disc, with the acclaim and sales in Germany and other European markets and we are quite humbled by it, we hope we can tour behind the next one. Also, we were fortunate enough to get tracks on a sampler by Ironic Records, distributed by Sony in Japan and are very excited and grateful for the fan response it has garnered. I recently visited Shinagawa, Tokyo and dropped off some full discs of our debut to an associate there who delivered them to some fans who could not find the disc. I believe Tower in Tokyo now has some copies, as well. Of course, it remains a dream of ours to tour in the Pac Rim.
Mindcage takes its name from the A.E. van Vogt Golden Age Sci Fi classic of the same name, merging the words from the title together to create the distinctive trademarked and internationally recognized monikker first bestowed on the band by myself in 1994. Drawing from a broad range of influences from Melodic Rock/AOR, Euro Metal, Prog Rock/Metal, and even Classical music... you can expect the songs on any Mindcage record to tread in many different territories. The sound you hear will hopefully be familiar and classic, while remaining innovative and groundbreaking in spirit. Yet, the sound will always be distinctly "Mindcage"! (Yes, I must say so!)
The band always strives to create powerful and progressive music that complements thought-provoking subject matter and compelling imagery. The upcoming release, entitled "Charting the Unseen", will be no exception! It will have all bases covered from the ultra-progressive to atmospheric, symphonic, acoustic, and even straight ahead melodic rock.
And the theme of "Charting the Unseen" happens to be our favorite, the Human Condition. Story-telling tends to be what we do best, and bringing sound effects and dialog in to embellish the tale is something we think naturally compliments songwriting. This is our hallmark, and something we are quite proud of being known for. We hope to convey some universal truths and strike a chord we can all relate to, as the stories unfold.
Fans of Queensryche, Rush, Queen, Pain of Salvation, Scorpions, Crimson Glory, Fates Warning, Savatage, Dream Theater, Gamma Ray, Helloween, Iron Maiden, MSG, and Accept will no doubt appreciate the high-caliber musicianship tethered with a wide range of topics, delivered with a dramatic and conceptualized approach. Yeah. I could go on... but truth is, we love good music and we just do what we do!

I'm writing for news! I'm glad to announce that I'm the new singer of the Gothic Metal band "Seven Dark Eyes"! We have an excellent understanding, so I'm sure that working together will be amazing!
The new album "Across Oneiric Lands", produced by the Label "Underground Symphony", will be soon available in stores!
