Bio:

"Mind Priority" plays brazilian jazz fusion in the original way of J.-Alvaro's compositions and arrangements.

This creative bass player started his carreer in 1966 in Brazil and worked all over the american continent (Brazil, USA, Cuba) with famous musicians and singers. When J.-Alvaro came to Belgium in 1990, after a few years playing in many groups and orchestras in France, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, Skandinavia and other countries, he decided to build a band upon his own music. He invited european musicians like Philippe Leblanc, Thierry Goodman, Gino LaTucca, Michael Blaes, Vincent Penace and Alain DeVis, to combine brazilian styles with european influences. Since then "Mind Priority" is playing all over Belgium in jazz-clubs, charity-events and every year in festivals like Jazz-Marathon, Bruxelles-Les-Bains, EuRithmix, Fete De La Musique and the Audi-Jazz-Festival. A CD will come out within a few months.

Pamela Schmid started at the age of 4 years to study classic piano, took part in many youth competitions in Germany ( her home-country ) until she turned to be a jazz singer at the age of 18. Charmed by brazilian jazz she found her way to "Mind Priority" in 2004. She also developped an instrumental way of singing, wich is coulouring the band's sound together with keyboard effects.

Manuela C. Amorim (brazilian) who partly founded "Mind Priority" was the rythmn guitarrist of the band for 4 years. As the youngest member of the band she created an important part of its image.

Pierre Gillet, an excellent belgian flute player, coming from classic music studies grew by playing in symphonic and jazz-orchestras as well as in traditional folk groups. Impressed by his feeling for brazilian jazz J.-Alvaro invited him to play with "Mind Priority" in 2006.

Dmitri Tsvetkov, a russian drummer, has been playing latin american, african and brazilian rythmns for many years and discovered his particular swing within. He studied in Moscou and played with "Mind Priority" in 2006.

Sergio Valente, a tremendous cuban pianist, is playing with "Mind Priority" since the beginnings. He studied classic- and jazz- piano in Moscou and plays with many different musicians, also rock, funk, latin and other styles. His great musical knowlege sustains the hamonic part of the band's sound.

"Mind Priority" invited many different musicians over the years and each one left his particular influence. And J.-Alvaro's experience in very many styles of modern music, wich also grew by being a highly requested studio musician, gives a special variety to his music.

Intelligent and groovy at the same time...
