MINDSHAPEFIST are a four piece pyle -driving Rock band from Asheville, North Carolina with roots in classic rock , funk , southern rock and yes some hard ass metal for flavoring . The first EP was 2005's "10 HRS 5 MINS 43 SEC" & introduced the band to the local scene . This record was produced and recorded by Jay Matheson and released with 'Mindshapemusic " Next came our project with the folks @ Echo Mountain Studios in AshEVILle NC ! The outcome of this effort became 2007's "Handling Snakes/Speaking in Tounges "(Mindshapemusic) . Mindshapefist continues to tour and play. New recording starts in June again with Jay @ Jam Room Studios . Mike Rhodes (Former Drummer for The Blue Rags and Highly respected Studio Session Drummer) has signed on to steer the SHIP and produce The New C.D.. Mindshapefist have been featured on Mount Dungeon TV , local licks 105. 9fm the mountain with Bad Ash, Upstate Unsigned 93.3 fm/ and four DVD's by LVM and Penstock Productions(The State Series). I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time yesterday. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a tune called Run Bobby Run:
