Summer 2002.
Ten year old Jordan with a new guitar. Eleven year old Zack on an improvised set of drums.
Mind the Gap began in a basement as a jam session between friends, just messing around.
Zack and Jordan quickly decided that this was their passion, and were soon joined by vocalist Jesse Wofferd
and bass player Ryan Freeman. MTG played their first gig at the Henderson Mill Elementary School's
Halloween Happening".October 2002.
With the help of strobe lights and a lot of candy, their performance was a huge success.
Jesse soon left, however, to pursue a different musical path, and MTG was joined by
vocalist and guitar player Spencer Wallace.
Since then, MTG has enjoyed many opportunities playing gigs for non-profit
organizations such as school fundraisers, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.In 2004, MTG won 1st place in the music division at the Freedom Middle
School talent show. In 2005, MTG began performing at private parties and
can be seen on the first Thursday of most months playing at Maddy's BBQ
Restaurant in Decatur, under the direction of Chicago Joe Jones.During the summer of 2005, MTG recorded their first demo CD, "Throwing the Can,"
which includes 2 original songs "Skool Daze" and "Where to Run".
They are looking forward to being a featured band for the New Year's Eve Celebration at Maddy's,
and hope 2006 will be their busiest year yet. MTG began as most bands do. Unlike most bands,
they are still together 3 years later. They know a good thing when they have it.
