MINGLE'S SIXTH YEAR !!! WOW....
Mingle was created in 2003 by Mia and her old friend Tim. Two guitars and two part harmony was nice, but they thought it would be nice to Mingle... The theory was to have various musicians Mingle on various tunes. Ilsa was the most serious Mingler, and was soon inducted into Mingle. Over the next three and a half years, the trio performed at places like: Tierney's Tavern, McGurk's Pub, Nyoda Music Festival, Music at the Mission, Autumn Lights Festival, and private parties too. Tim left the group in 2006, but Mia and Ilsa carried on. Mingle started hosting the Acoustic Open Mic at Tierney's Tavern [www.Tierneystavern.com] in May of 2005 and Mia and Ilsa still host the open mic every Thursday night. They have also performed benefit events [Suicide Prevention; Katie Reider Benefit] weddings, wakes, private and block parties.
Both Mia & Ilsa grew up learning vocals and musical instruments as children. They also have sang or performed to large audiences on numerous occasions over the years. Now both in their 40's, they have reached a magical time in their music lives. Mia and Ilsa's voices blend beautifully when they sing harmonies. Mia plays the 12 string guitar bringing all different levels & styles alike, while Ilsa is working up more songs on the 6 string. Ilsa has an original song, "Not Here On Earth", which is featured here. Mia has over 20 original tunes, reaching back as far as 1977 when "Inspiration" was created.
They still like to Mingle and have had a a great time playing with a lot of different folks while hosting the open mic. Look for upcoming shows soon, and you can always stop in and visit them Thursday nights at Tierney's.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4
