I am happy to announce the release of my first album "Picturesque Ruins". 12 songs for only $ 9.50 (MP3 $ 6.50) at CD Baby. Please click image to learn more.
....
The album starts off with some rhythmical, pretty sarcastic tracks that taste like strong coffee, hand-rolled cigarettes and whisky, whereas the second half will draw you into a more contemplative mood, with tropical fruit, abandoned beaches, sleeping meadows, starry nights, and a thunderstorm brooding over broken hearts and dreaming lovers.
If you like catchy melodies, imaginative song writing, raunchy electric, dreamy acoustic, weeping slide and lazy bass guitars, rattling retro drums or exotic percussion, gurgling 60s organs, bizarre psychedelic gimmicks, and an unmistakable voice oscillating somewhere between Leonard Cohen and Ray Davies, then Black Henbane is your man. If you have some taste in lo-fi charme, tinkling piano sounds, doleful mellotron strings and a svelte flute, even more so.
Honest, hand-made, home-recorded, self-released - so indie it hurts!
I put a new song up. It's calles "Another Disaster Waltz".
Actually it's not really new. I posted a lousy demo of it already last year. This is the final version you'll find on my first CD to be released shortly.
Maybe it's quite a good soundtrack for the current crisis. ;)
CIAN NUGENT 'Childhood, Christian Lies & Slaughter' CD Cian Nugent is a 19 year old guitar player from Dublin who combines squicky pre-war blues, Appalachian string band music, and the Takoma school into a deeply personal style. This cd documents a great live set, produced by Jozef Van Wissem.
For all those who fell asleep over my recent 5 minute ballads I uploaded a new rattling, lo-fi 2:45 song. It’s called “A Difficult Dance”. Enjoy! Looking forward to your comments.
I think it’s my last song upload before finishing my first CD. I herewith officially announce the release for October (and hope I won’t have to postpone it again).
Hey Andrew...thank you for enjoying my music. Come down to Southpaw, june 18th. Tons of music, live. Good time, good month, and a good venue to get over the hump of the week. I hope to see you there. Thanks again.
I put a new song up. It's called "2 am". One to dance to with someone you love, or with the stranger you just picked up on a rainy street, or with your image in the mirror. Or whatever. Enjoy. Any comment welcome.
good to see you for .2 seconds last night. i took my champagne chuggin' drunk ass home and fell asleep, missing all the fun Sat. night festivities. haha whoops!
Rock 'n' Roll ain't ever gonna set you free Rock 'n' Roll ain't no way out of misery But it's fun to play a bad guitar Or just to hear one
I've got a new song up. It's an electric version of "Rock 'n' Roll", a song I had posted in an acoustic version about a year ago. Enjoy! Any comment welcome.
