Mingus O'Bannon is a nationally touring solo
musician who plays traditional Irish music with
passion and energy. One part Dubliners, one
part Pogues, and a third part uniquely his own.
Originally from the "Corktown" neighborhood of
Detroit, Mingus digs deep into his roots and
delivers top-notch musicianship with every
performance.
"Earnest and gritty, Mingus packs
an emotional wallop."
-Michael Gourlay, Irish Times-
"Wake is both subtle and bombastic.
As a vehicle for traditional Irish song,
Mr. O'Bannon is nearly flawless."
-Vivian Faddis, S.F. Musical Arts Director-
"…his guitar playing is top-notch.
At times he sounds like a
whole band at once."
-Guy Driscol, Acoustic Guitar on-line-
did you make it back? lets meet up in seattle somewhere.... maybe this weekend. I will call you after I talk to the boss - who says hello. look forward to catching up.
The show was good but a bit lackluster. The acoustics were sub-par and somehow shane's incomprehensible antics were less entertaining this time around. On the other hand the whiskey was excellent!
Mingus. How are you Sir? Seattle is surfacing in my thoughts more often which always leads me to a pint of beer somewhere in an Irish pub comfortable in the corners of Seattle. Miss you.
migus. how are you? i have been making some progress on the music front. today was my first day in the studio and it went much better then i expected. cant wait to let you have a listen. miss you. take care.
Hey buddy, long time no chat! Well the good news is I'm in the home-stretch. Just one more month: I'll be flying into Seatac on June 22nd...just in time for open-mic night ironically! Who knew? Just like you predicted, the time out here is flying by and things are going well, but I'm looking forward to getting back home and hearing some good tunes! Hope you're havin' fun up there and keep me posted about the goings-on!
