   About minimilk
Formed in 2003 by Remi & Sebastien. They love bossa nova a lot. And "Les Yéyés" too.
Recorded on 4 track in the sunny kitchen during the summer (kids were playing football outside).
The London based Phonic Kidnapping records will release Sa trace Silencieuse in February.
Tres chouette!

REVIEWS:

Generated several years ago in a sunny kitchen of France with his mate Sébastien Llinares (Nowaki records, Electrophönvintage), Minimilk songs were not necessarily intended to be officially released one day...tiny guitar-driven bossa ditties sung in French...the kind of intimate affair that could have remained confidential till the end of times ! Happilly, like a miracle, it is now out on the newly founded Phonic Kidnaping Records. Musically speaking, simple and beautiful, as we could expect from duo's sense of songcraft, and, in addition, quite original and impressive lyrics, and that's a true revelation !! The Minimilk EP is an autosufficient treasure in itself and, like a unique magnum opus, it maybe doesn't need any follower... >>POP'N'CHERRIES

Minimilk is Remi of Electrophonvintage / The Sunny Street murmuring in French to the accompaniment of a gently strummed guitar (courtesy of Sebastien). Remi sent me a nice letter with this record in which he uses the word ‘maladroit’ and for that alone I salute him. However, these four gossamer bossa tracks are also a reason to take a celebratory sip of coffee and stare wistfully out the window. These wispy songs, delicate as cobwebs, are the soundtrack to your own personal Truffaut film. They are breezes through open windows, sunlight flashing on lakes, buttercups under chins, lounging in the long grass and thoughtful walks home. Remi says the songs were recorded ‘a few years ago in the sunny kitchen…’ which is exactly how it should be. Tiny exquisite moments, elegantly packaged. >>KITTEN PAINTING

Minimilk have made a pretty minimalist EP with Sa Trace Silencieuse. The band comprise of two Frenchmen who are split between Paris and London one of whom is Remi, he of Sunny Street and Electrophonvintage. This is lo-fi at it's most extreme, ambient even, although they call it samba on their my space page. One plays guitar (Sebastien) whilst the other (Remi) sings. They sound like pleasing sentimental songs but could be about death and destruction for all I know as they are sung in French. Still I like what I hear and listening to any song sung in a foreign language always sounds romantic especially those recorded in a sunny kitchen many years ago. These four short, gentle and sweet songs are no exception. The EP is beautifully packaged and is out now on Phonic Kidnapping Records. >>INDIE MP3
