Third Gear Youth Leadership After School Program is a non-profit organization based in the North Lawndale Community. Third Gear with a 501(c) 3 letter on file, a copy is available upon request. Third Gear Youth Leadership Organization motivates young adults, ages 13-23. Our programs are designed for the economically poor who are "at risk", to mature into responsible, productive adults through self-direction. The program empowers and "wakes-up those who sleep in the grave of ignorance": Third Gear teaches the youth to fight for better schools, communities and a "better day"! Our youth are screaming for help and no one listens to them. Third Gear is the voice of our un-heard youth. Our priority is to develop leaders in the North Lawndale Communities. 14.3 million Children are on their own after school in our communities today. Third Gear Youth Leadership Organization is working on behalf of all children and their families to increase investments in our after-school programming. Third Gear is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of after-school-programs and advocating at no cost to our children for our programs. Since 2004, Third Gear Youth Leadership Organization has led efforts to maintain a safe haven for the youth in the North Lawndale Community with our after-school programs.

NAMDI ART GALLERY 110 NORTH PEORIA CHICAGO, ILLINOIS 60607 @ 4:00pm Fur is now making a huge comeback: During New York’s Fashion Week, fur was everywhere — a trend that was heavily reflected a week later in London’s version of the event. Fur has also experienced a tremendous resurgence on the catwalks of Paris and Milan, and is more popular than ever in Japan, Russia and Germany. Recently, the Metropolitan Museum of Art put together wild: Fashion Untamed, a historical retrospective of our use of animals, pelts, skins and feathers in fashion. The exhibit was primarily sponsored by Roberto Cavalli, an Italian designer who makes heavy use of fur. Color is a driving force: My intarrsia pieces are celebrated works of art, and are often collected as such. Our unique approach extends far beyond sheared beaver to mink, sable, chinchilla, nutria, sheared muskrat, fox and also to luxurious, fur-trimmed coats of precious fabrics.
