ABOUT THE FILM... "WORD ON THE STR33T" is a feature-length documentary that investigates the legitimacy of Christian Hip-Hop as a tool for ministry or as another genre of music aimed at acquiring profits. The investigation examines the history and growth of this movement in the United States through interviews from the industry's pioneering rappers. Further investigation on the topic covers the status of Christian Hip-Hop at present and it's evolution since its inception in the 1980s. The filmmaker invites the viewer to take a firsthand look at this movement through footage from concerts and seminars from the largest industry conferences in Tampa, FL and Atlanta, GA. Interviews range from Christian Hip-Hop's up & coming to the genre's most acclaimed acts featuring: The Ambassador of Cross Movement, Da' T.R.U.T.H, shai linne, Mr. Del, k-Drama, and much more. "WORD ON THE STR33T" aims to seriously examine the theological purpose and determine whether Christian Hip-Hop is more concerned about an evangelizing ministry or a money-making industry.

I enjoyed the film. watched it w/a few other heads. kinda short but good selection. for the most part stayed away from regional acts and had a nice array of east coast/southern national acts. this is always appreciated. glad it's out, hope it does well...
