Sounds Like
“From riotous, shrieking highs to hopelessly grave lows … like taking a trip to an early-'90s dirty, smoky basement band practice - and hearing a divine fusion of lush garage rock (a little Pixies, a tad Nirvana, some random Beach Boys). It's like Ozzy Osbourne and Damon Albarn got together for an afternoon tea and happened to write some songs, too.” (Kari Wethington, Cin Weekly)
“When you listen to the songs, you can vividly picture the band bouncing off the walls like a cage full of monkeys on double banana day. The Minni-Thins take screaming back from the Emo kids and make it not only palpable but downright tuneful.” (Mike Breen, CityBeat)
“…trying to duck and cover from the barrage of cowbell, screeching guitar and synth, and schizophrenic vocals. Their originality, their cutting sense of humor and sarcasm recall the earliest of punk bands, but their sound is something considerably more modern.” (Kevin Keating, Origivation Magazine)
“Live, the intensity and eerie depth of their sound is magnified, making these guys a sure bet the next time they pass through town.” (Julie G, Punk Planet)
"...noise curfew is seven, ma'am." (Newport Police Officer)
Aaron and Jeremy, The Brothers Strickland, first rallied their musical talents to form Abnormal Myopia, a short lived grunge and punk cover band, circa 2002. Fat Adam formed not long afterwards but fizzled after a few months, and The Minni-Thins formed in 2003, became SXSW alumni and Cincinnati Entertainment Award winners in 2005, and are still going strong today.
The music of the Minni-Thins is best described as Blackgrass.
The band's first full length album, In Black Cause I Asked, can be purchased at www.cdbaby.com/minnithins.

How many big and small bands have been ripped off by the industry? Umm..ALL OF THEM! Since I can't sell my albums, I will try to feed myself with a batch of unearthed SME demos from 1999, 2000, and 2006. The prices are high because you are now buying ORGANIC / 100 % Pro-artist Anti-exploiters music!! thank you!
