Below is information about an upcoming charity event for Newport City Radio, your local radio station. The station is run as part of the charity Urban Circle and is manned by volunteers from in and around Newport and is YOUR!!!!! station. The station is currently testing FM broadcast throughout February on 87.9FM and if it's successful and supported by the people of Newport it is very likely that it will get a 5 year FM license. That will mean you will have a dedicated radio station for local music and chat, local news, advertising for local businesses (that can reach the whole of Newport and the surrounding area) and special broadcasts from local events and entertainment venues.
LOCAL BUSINESSES will benefit greatly by having a local radio station giving access to about 150,000 people across Newport and the surrounding area. Not only through advertising but also through show sponsorship, live broadcasts and special features you can get your business name and details out to a large number of local people.
Anyone who has tuned in or is interested in working with or advertising on Newport City Radio should turn up to Radio Rocks!!!! on Thurs 12th Feb at the Riverfront Theatre. Meet the team behind the station, have your say on the shows and music that you would want to hear and just enjoy an evening of entertainment, food and wine at the Riverfront theatre.
