Specializing in Hip Hop, Soul, and R&B, Minus1 is a music producer and composer who has created works for recording labels including Sony, Polygram, Atlantic, Elektra, and Motown.
Minus1 began his formal music education as a high school student at Washington, DC's Duke Ellington School of the Arts--where he majored in percussion. At Duke Ellington, Minus1 received solid artistic training along with fellow classmates: recording artist Me'shell Ndegeocello, opera singer Denyce Graves, and comedian/ actor Dave Chappelle--among other renowned artists.
His years of performing in numerous bands span two decades--during which time he toured internationally as a drummer/programmer for various bands (including Cafe Soul and Masquerade), honed his music production skills, and co-founded and operated (with his twin brother, Scott) Dem Twinzz Productions. As a business owner and producer, Minus1 has collaborated and continues to work with noted vocalists, songwriters, as well as bands of independent and previously mentioned major labels. Additionally, Minus1 creates music tracks for corporate videos--including one that was featured on FOX-TV's America's Most Wanted.
Currently, Dem Twinzz serves as the publishing arm of Minus1's music business consortium, and his company Minus1 Productions provides songwriting and music production services.
