Starting out in Salvador, Brazil, on 2006, Minus Blindness is a band deeply rooted in thrash metal. Comprised by Tassio Bacelar (vocals and guitars), Rafael Milek (bass) and Thiago Andrade (drums), the Brazilian ensemble makes a conscious effort to expand the genre's boundaries through the exploration and development of elements such as aggression, guitars and bass melodic progressions, and drums with arrangements always varying between valuing the collective and showcasing individual prowess.
The trio line-up amazes at shows: the apparently simple approach seem harmless but, by the end of the first song, there are no doubts left that, at least with Minus Blindness, less sounds a lot bigger.
On 2007, the band recorded a few songs for their independent EP, “War Zone”. With distribution and promotion limited to their shows and the internet, they created quite a buzz locally, having their songs being sung live by an ever growing number of admirers. Then, local indie label Torto Fono Gramas (Cobalto, Yun-Fat) signed the band for the release of their debut, “Choleric The Aversion”.
The album, produced by Jera Cravo (Cobalto, Automata, Malefactor) and the band, is a testament to what they do live: extreme aggression, many times almost sounding death metal, plenty of mellow guitar lines, thick bass and rich tempo changes. Totaling 15 songs, all the live favorites are there: from “Just Passengers”' epic chorus to the brutality in “War Zone”, not forgetting to mention the fast-paced “Justice Parasites” and “Live In A Cabaret”. New songs “Intolerant And Choleric”, “Third World Tribute” and “Sick Mind” will definitely figure among recent favorites. With artwork based ..ings by Swedish artist Daniel Apagruppen, aka Semiotext, “Choleric The Aversion” is scheduled to be released on December 2008.

Formado em Salvador no ano de 2006, o Minus Blindness é uma banda com sólidas raízes no thrash metal. Composto por Tassio Bacelar (voz e guitarra), Rafael Milek (baixo) e Thiago Andrade (bateria), o grupo esforça-se conscientemente em expandir os limites do gênero através da exploração e desenvolvimento de elementos como peso, progressões melódicas das linhas de guitarra e baixo, e baterias com arranjos que variam entre valorização do coletivo e brilho individual do instrumento.
A formação em trio surpreende nos shows: a abordagem aparentemente simples parece inofensiva e, ao final da primeira música, não resta dúvida de que menos, no caso do Minus, soa muito maior.
Em 2007, a banda gravou algumas músicas para o seu EP independente, “War Zone”. Com distribuição limitada aos seus shows e à internet, conseguiram fazer-se conhecidos localmente, com algumas de suas músicas sendo cantadas em suas apresentações por um número cada vez maior de admiradores. Foi então que o selo Torto Fono Gramas (Cobalto, Yun-Fat) assinou com o grupo para o lançamento de seu primeiro álbum, “Choleric The Version”.
O disco, com produção de Jera Cravo (Cobalto, Automata, Malefactor) e da própria banda, é exatamente a mistura que o Minus Blindness faz ao vivo: peso extremo, muitas vezes tendo seu thrash soando quase como death metal, guitarras mais melódicas, baixo poderoso e ricas mudanças de andamento. São 15 músicas e as favoritas nos shows estão todas lá, do épico refrão de “Just Passengers” à brutalidade de “War Zone”, passando pelas rápidas “Justice Parasites” e “Live In A Cabaret”. As novas “Intolerant And Choleric”, “Third World Tribute” e “Sick Mind” prometem figurar, também, entre as recém-prediletas. Com arte utilizando pinturas do artista plástico sueco Daniel Apagruppen (Semiotext), “Choleric The Aversion” tem lançamento em dezembro de 2008.
