Hey buddies! We're hitting the road once again this Fall and we're pretty damn excited to play some rock shows. We'll be hitting a few spots we missed on the last Spring tour (yes, I'm looking at you Texas, Florida, and the South). Annuals will be supporting the entire tour and our friends in 27, Helms Alee, Themes and Sylvie will be joining us for a few weeks at a time.
Minus the Bear is thrilled to announce its late night TV debut on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE Friday July 18 (12:05 AM / 11:05PM CT)!!! The band will perform the single, "Throwin' Shapes" from Planet of Ice (Suicide Squeeze Records). Please tune in!!!
If you live in the LA area, get tickets for the show here! We'll be playing a mini-set of 5-6 songs after the taping.
In other news, Minus the Bear's recently recorded session for Daytrotter will see the light of day beginning Wednesday July 2. And for those of you in Portland, Oregon, the band will support Foo Fighters on Thursday July 10. In addition to the performances above, the band has a few festival appearances in the works, including BC's Pemberton and Washington's Bumbershoot festivals.

Coachella, Langerado, Burn to Shine DVD, and remix vinyl!
-- 1/23/08
Who’s ready for some heat? We’ll be sweating our buns off when we appear at Coachella for the second time. We couldn’t be more pleased to share the stage with some other fantastic artists. The festival runs April 25-27. We’ll also be heading out to Florida for the Langerado festival at the beginning of March.
Minus the Bear has been included in the well-loved Burn To Shine DVD series, out February 19, 2008. Shot in Spring 2007 in an abandoned house in Seattle, WA, Minus the Bear performed an electrifying version of the single “Knights” off of Planet of Ice. The DVD includes performances by such artists as Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie), Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Cave Singers and many more. Check the website above for a clip of us rockin da house.
We’ll also be releasing the vinyl of our remix record, Interpretaciones Del Oso, on February 5, 2008 through Vinyl Collective. You can pre-order it
here!
Limited to 1,000 copies, the disc will be released on various colors - 150 Mystery colored vinyl, 250 on Root Beer Float colored vinyl (cokebottle blue/half opaque brown w/ cream splatter) and 500 on 180 gram black vinyl.
Australia, Japan, Hawaii and More -- 1/18/08
We're gearing up and getting ready for our first tour of 2008! This will be our first time heading down under and we couldn't be more excited about exploring a new continent. Then it's off to Japan for a few shows before we put our feet on the beautiful Hawaiian beaches with Mai Tai's in hand. Mmmm.
Watch out for a new video in the next month or so. All I have to say is that this shit is funny... More tours are in the works, but we just can't let you know about them yet. Hold yr breath and details will be emerging soon!
We're MTV's Band of the Week! -- 9/16/07
Tune in to MTV all week to see our handsome mugs plastered across a bunch of sweet promos. Interviews, performance footage, all kinds of stuff...
From our MTV Buzzworthy page: "For their Artist Of The Week run, we met up with Minus The Bear in Seattle and gave them an old-school Super 8 camera. The resulting footage, which you’ll see all week during their Artist Of The Week TV spots, was shot at their favorite haunts, including Capitol Hill pub Clever Dunnes and the Seattle Laser Dome. We think the diverse locations (one down-and-dirty, the other awesomely electrifying) perfectly represent the band’s comfortably dissimilar style."
"Planet of Ice" In Stores! -- 8/21/07
We're thrilled that our new record hits stores today! It'll be at all yr favorite local mom n' pop shops as well as the big box stores. CD / ITUNES / VINYL
Make yr profile icy – add a new MTB MySpace icon! -- 7/11/07
love you guys to death, but i hope you lean a little more into the older sounds on this new album. i mean, planet of ice was more subtle than the others, and thats cool. so wheres the kickin chicken guys? i hope it rocks a little more than then the into the mirror track you have posted.
All I have to say is you guys rocked in Colorado Springs big time!!! One of the best shows I've been to in a long time. Hope you guys make it out here again here in the near future.
I'm extremely heartbroken that I missed your show TWICE. planned on going to the cat's cradle, couldn't go. bought tickets for pittsburg, friend bailed out. please come back to VA!!!!
So, I'm expecting to see you guys on a longer tour after the new album hits. Specifically in the Columbus, OH area? Please tell me my assumptions are correct.
Just as we cannot stop the movement of the heavens, revolving as they do with such speed, so we cannot restrain our thought. And then we send all the faculties of the soul after it, thinking we are lost, and have misused the time that we are spending in the presence of God. Yet the soul may perhaps be wholly united with Him in the Mansions very near His presence, while thought remains in the outskirts of the castle, suffering the assaults of a thousand wild and venomous creatures and from this suffering winning merit. So this must not upset us, and we must not abandon the struggle, as the devil tries to make us do. Most of these trials and times of unrest come from the fact that we do not understand ourselves. ~ Teresa of Avila
