steel rain pounding down on your car; blends in with the pop song on the tiny radio system. you're parked on an empty lot in the middle of the night and the girl on your right side looks at you and says you're being childish, as usual. but you know she loves you just because you're half man, half boy and half woman [adds up to 1 1/2 person, but you're somehow larger than life with her] and sometimes these kinds of harmless semi-fights end up with you fucking in the backseat. and you're thinking 'well, it may not last forever', but it's worth trying. and the voice on the radio - or maybe it's the girl on your right side - is singing like he/she wants to be a millionare, but never had the right angle, the right opportunity or the courage. but it's worth trying.
minxy soul models is sound and they are beat.
based in gothenburg, minxy set out to be something completely different from the start. but they never meant to be avantgarde, coz then you can't dance to it. and they all love to dance. instead, this is their take on pop.
the members of minxy all grew up in gothenburg, the harbour everyone reaches eventually. and three of them used to play together as kids. stefan larsson, peter modestij and christoffer lärkner were all about the same age, so they played with each other in kindergarten. a fourth kid, simon la mont, wanted to play with them as well, but they wouldn't let him. he was six years younger than they were, so they would throw sand or stones at him to keep him away, sometimes even beat him up.
but fifteen years or so later, they realized simon la mont could actually play the drums, just as they were trying out drummers for their band. in fact, he was perfect, partly because of his background as a mod/soul dj. all of a sudden simon was cool. so they immediately tried to recruit him, but he was still bitter about the blows he took when they were kids. the members of minxy begged on their knees for him to forgive them, and after he had a go at beating each one of them as hard as he could, he finally accepted.
so, minxy soul models is now the beatings of simon la mont, the whipping harmonies of christoffer lärkner and stefan larsson, and the sometimes cocky and sometimes begging voice of peter modestij. minxy soul models is sound and they are beat. it's the bridge that didn't exist between shoegaze and soul, it's organic electronica if you wish. transparent, yeah.
Nu på fredag får ni inte missa Mother Popcorn på House Records, Henriksberg! Sväng, svett o tårar utlovas. Efter oss spelar ösiga Maeryl, så det blir en riktigt funkig kväll!

amigo! vad härligt med nya låtar! haha spelningar var inte riktigt min grej, ifall inte med min typ av musik och framträdande..det blir ganska begränsat. hur går det för er? har ni ngt på gång?
är kvar några veckor till, sedan tillbaks till paris. du vägrar fortfarande mobil eller?

Kommer ihåg att recensenten skrev att ni var redo för det, låter ju fan som en stalker(bänk med ljus, kort å grejjer) men ibland kommer man ihåg udda grejjer!?! //Petter
