Influences
I think everything I listen to influences me musically. My big faves are Led Zeppelin and The Distillers. My other faves are Metallica, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Dave Matthews Band, Foo Fighters, Alter Bridge, Steppenwolf, Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, Buddy Holly...wow, I think we could be here all day.
Long story short: if it's music, I like it. I've got an open mind, and I'm always up for checking out new tunes and new things.
In the music industry, females have to work twice as hard to get half the respect. They have to be louder, crazier, and more in-your-face.
Miranda Day is one female artist who lives by this mantra.
"I can remember playing a gig one night, and I had another female guitarist onstage with me. After we had finished playing, a little boy came up to the stage and said to the other guitarist, "You're pretty good, for a girl". That bothered me tremendously, that gender was even a factor. It shouldn't be, but it is...especially in rock music."
Bands and artists like Joan Jett, Hole, and the Distillers are some of Miranda's biggest influences.
"Brody from The Distillers (and now Spinnerette) is one of my all-time favorite female rockers. She's so tough; she gets onstage and she is so fierce. Her voice just blasts you to the back wall."
Miranda's goal not only with her music, but with her life is to empower guys as well as the ladies, and spread the word that life is happy, sad, funny, ironic, and always worth the ride.
Okay, so that's my bio. Now let me tell you the real story.
I'm a short kid who plays a bunch of random instruments and makes random music. I'm known to record folks and do photography on occasion. Music is my life. That's about it.

A close friend of our's was in a house fire and lost his life. His name was Jon Pettis and was a member of an Austin Band, BANKRUPT and THE BORROWERS. Everyone was in the house at the time of the fire as well as their loved ones. Jon was the only one to not get out and everything was lost. Dragon's Breath is taking ALL and ANY donations. We mean clothes, light wait foods, cash, change in your pocket, anything. Jon's Girlfriend was in the house as well, a little thing, and she was the one to pull out many of the members in the house. She couldn't get to Jon. I can only imagaine what she is going through. Our fellow employee, Angel, has taken a stand and is going to put up her fave stalletos to go to the HIGHEST bidder! (pix posted). The Stalleto's were Air brushed by Air Brush Artist none other than Sonti!!! These shoes are HOTT!!! Angel wore them one time to model them. Bidding started Wednesday and ends Friday 5pm. Please come in to Dragon's Breath to make a donation, share some love and bid on these shoes. (Guys, Christmas is coming and every girl loves a nice Stalleto! Size 6.)
