Miriam's music encorporates a great mixture of her ethnic upbringings--being born and raised in South Africa--and a great new age blend of layered harmonies, jazz & percussion. As one of the world's most successful backing vocalists, this gorgeous voice just keeps on surprising us with her talent.
You may recognize her from her years devoted to the classical masterpieces of Adiemus, or if you have followed her career closely--from her vocal performance on Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit where she sang Perfect Day. She also sang on the soundtrack of many other well known films such as Great Expectations, Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring, and onwards.
Miriam has recorded with many artists including Freddie Mercury, Queen (post Freddie Mercury), Chaka Khan, Tom Jones, Tina Turner, Kylie Minogue and many more...
Some fans who have written on her website have had this to say about Miriam:
"I loved your beautiful voice since my childhood... and everytime when I'm looking at the stars above, I'll sing Wishing on A Star.... it's really beautiful..." --Fateema"Your vocals and harmonies are so uplifting and truly breathtaking." --George"Being a 22 year old male mainly diverting my attention to Metal and Hard Rock, I also enjoy tranquil melodies. You have the most beautiful voice ever and your music has not only inspired me, but has also changed my outlook on life." --Matthew"Your music is beautiful! You send me places in the ethereal I have never been. " --Tom

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
