  • Bio

The talented artists known collectively as Miró & the Transmitter first started out under the monniker PUK. Other band names tried out included Bloodclot and Disgust - which resleased the album "Deposit You In Disgust" - before finally settling on the current name. M&tT's first album was entitled "Smells Like Ferret" and received lukewarm reviews. Their most popular song from the album was the ballad composed about rhythm guitarist's Wigel Tufnel's mother, entitlted "The Empty Space Between Your Legs." .. From there, they went on to release the now-mythic "Swipe at the Mic," which as been specially re-mixed for their 2006 Greatest Hits album, "Vomitory Chokehold." "Swipe" also had the ironically named "Our Last Song (Queenie)" on it, an excruciating examination of the pressures of the music industry and the hollowness of celebrity... The distinctive Miró sound has been best summed up in this review from 1999: "There's something about the frequency or the pitch or something of your voice that's, I think, slowly killing me." .. The band are currently in the studio, putting the finishing touches on their next single, "P is for Psycho/Psychiatrist." It should be up within the month!..
