   About MirrorAmerica
As someone once wrote: "Yet another rock band formed from the ashes of America's incestuous rock scene. MirrorAmerica play guitars like aMiniature, drums like Sarge and basses like Sixto. San Diego angular punk rock goes to dinner with midwest pop."

WOW!

Glad to see John Lee making songs again, I've always loved his singing and guitar. Did I mention I have the "BASSBOOST" tape you guys put out(Scheming Intelligensia?).

MirrorAmerica to me is very reminiscent of early "bar aMiniature"(pre-Depth 5), more loose and a little more rocking and fun, but I maybe wrong. I love it!

I just have one tiny nag John: please don't redo any songs you've already done. I just think the originals are better. I always thought BASSBOOST's version of "skyline" was much better than plexiwatt's and I still like the WEEPO version on the Drip Tank(gosh, I miss them!) split you guys did w/ them better than Depth 5. Well, you can redo any songs cause they're your's, but sometimes your first "choice" is the best choice.

Much, much love for John Lee though. It was quite a privilege to have watched aMiniature grow in SD.

You & Pretendo & Creedle(if they ever happen) should do a Southern Cal tour!

'Stop the Dedication' is like a triumphant progression in Lee's songwriting. It reminds me of 'Towner on the B-side' and 'Physical Climber.' The whole Mirroramerica album has these amazing dual leads. It's like 'Murktime Cruiser part II! Are you guys going to make the jump to a label like Touch n'Go or Kill Rock Stars?? How about touring, I seriously would kill to see a live show!-Sorry for the overabundance of enthusiasm but I gotta say you guys are like one of a kind. Nobody is doing what you guys are doing. I hope to find musicians who I can collaborate with and find that kind of formula!!!

Mar 5 2006 2:45 AM

Spent the day listening to old punk albums so I of course had to throw on some Toxic Reasons, Articles of Faith, Naked Raygun and Effigies in homage to last weekend. Man, the Effigies. That was some shit. Tomorrow I'm onto Die Kreuzen in honor of Mill Walk Kay...

Let us know what weekend we should start booking some shows out here...

Now this could only happen to a band like we
And only happen in a town like this
And so we say to you most gratefully
As we throw you a kiss
This is our kind of town, Chicago is
Our kind of town, Chicago is
Our kind of people too
People who, smile at you
And each time we roam, Chicago is
Calling us home, Chicago is
One town that won't let you down
It's our kind of town
Our kind of town
Chicago is our kind of razzmatazz
And it has, all that jazz
And each time we leave, Chicago is
Tuggin' our sleeve, Chicago is
The Wrigley Building, Chicago is
The Chicago Cubbies, Chicago is
One town that won't let you down
It's our kind of town
