Man, this generation needs to realize one simple thing....
We need God. We need a true grip on reality. Delusion, deception, and distractions have kept us away from the truth that is Jesus Christ. It's time to get a higher vision than the next cool party, tight outfit, and newest video game. People, we were created to encounter and walk with the Living God. Why have we settled for so much less? I picture God looking down on our tiny little human lives in tears saying, "You have fallen so far from what you were called to be." "My beloved sons and daughters if you only knew you could really encounter and serve the Risen Savior, Jesus."
Jesus said, "If anyone wishes to come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Luke 9:23
When we really begin to take up our cross...we see that what we were once so impressed by (the newest this or that) pails greatly in comparison to intimacy with the Creator of the Universe.
Taking up our cross is not easy...taking up our cross is not always the most pleasureful, and taking up our cross costs us everything, for some of us even our physical lives. The gift of God is free...the cost to follow Jesus' narrow path is great.
As a generation, we are tired of fitting in with the monotonous norms of our culture. Jesus came to rock us out of our cultural allegiances!!! Not that culture in and of itself is bad. But Christ came that we would serve a higher Kingdom!!! The Kingdom of God and His Christ.
