Create Your Own! M. Mrakota Orsman is a freelance cartoonist, webmaster, graphic artist, and art show impresario. He has three major motion picture credits on his curriculum vitae, is studied in the art of search engine optimization, curates regional art shows and film festivals, organizes a youth choir/praise team at his church, and is devoted husband and father to two adorable and precocious children. In a previous life he was also an award winning marketer, theatrical director, playwright and actor, and is planning a regression to that life soon...
People are people. Male, female, rich poor, famous or not... makes no difference. He's happy to meet anybody, and they should be happy to meet him.
That's not to say there aren't people and artists he admires, but they're just working stiffs like him when it comes right down to it. And the more he meets, the more this is proven true.

Interests
General
Cartoons and Caricature, especially the work of Al Hirschfeld,
DC Comics,
Zombie Movies,
50s and 60s Kitsch,
Ultralounge Music,
Vintage Illustration,
Universal Monster movies,
Filmmaking, Playwriting, Acting, Singing, Digital Photography, Silent Film Comedies and SO much more.
Music
I like a wide range of music, everything from Albinoni to Frank Zappa. I don't listen to a lot of modern country or Gangsta Rap, but that's not to say it doesn't happen. Basically, I like music that makes me smile, and that's on a case by case basis.
Movies
..
It'd be easier to say what movies I don't like! Generally, that would be Russian Science Fiction (unless I'm looking for a cure for insomnia), and or The Return of Captain Invincible. I mean, and film that features Christopher Lee singing in S&M Leather gear, you'd think would be a slam dunk, but... no.
As far as favorites, the top of the list, and this depends on the day, is either Raiders of the Lost Ark or Terry Gilliam's Brazil.
I *love* horror movies, especially the old Universal Monsters films of the 30's and 40's, and the oeuvre of George A. Romero and John Landis.
Shaun of the Dead is a slice of Fried Gold.
Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd were cinematic gods.
Rankin-Bass Animagic rocks.
Both Young Einstein & Young Frankenstein share space on my DVD shelf with the experimental films of Maya Deren. I'm starting to ramble, as the full list is entirely too long.
I'm also a sucker for a good film noir... May I suggest a little known gem entitled His Kind of Woman with Robert Mitchum, Jane Russell and the amazing Vincent Price? Equal parts brutal and hilarious.
Television
I'm digging Doctor Who for the first time in almost twenty years. Other than that? Boston Legal Smallville All three CSI programs NCIS How I Met Your Mother Two and a Half Men Mythbusters Good Eats
I miss Buffy, Out of Practice and The Muppet Show.
I miss the golden days of smart criminals and smarter cops.
Books
Currently, I'm digging WORLD WAR Z by Max Brooks.
Heroes
Anyone who loves what they do for a living, especially in the arts, and makes a good living at it. If you're flush in the creative world you are my hero.
I have three MAJOR film art credits to my name, (one released, and uncredited, the other two coming in 2008)
Also Festival Director of the CathARTic Halloween Film and art festival, going into its fourth year!

"With vampires it was a little different. It wasn't shortness of breath, or metabolic overdrive, or some blanket of snow that locked the pantry every winter. The problem wasn't so much a lack of prey as a lack of difference from it; vampires were such a recent split from the ancestral baseline that the reproductive rates hadn't diverged... Vampires fed on things that bred barely faster than they did. They would have wiped out their own food supply in no time if they hadn't learned how to ease off on the throttle." ---- Blindsight By Peter Watts Vampires ... Nobody gets past Jupiter without becoming part vampire." ---- Blindsight By Peter Watts
