MIRTHRANDIR’s music was influenced by the major bands of the day and reflects the styles of Gentle Giant, King Crimson, Yes and Genesis, yet the six piece band soon developed their own paradigm and set off in a different direction. MIRTHRANDIR’s two guitarists developed a unique contrapuntal style unlike that of any progressive act and it was not unusual for the group to spend several weeks perfecting one minute of music. The impossibly dense and complex works created by MIRTHRANDIR plainly reflected the band member’s unusual vision and dedication to their craft.
MIRTHRANDIR features three of the six original band members; vocalist and trumpeter John Vislocky III, bassist and flautist James Miller. and keyboardist Simon Gannett, as well as new members Alan Benjamin, Tim McMahon on the twin guitars and Robert Goldman on the drums.
