Misanthropy was founded in 1994 by Magnus Warhammer (drums), Mike Rames (guitar, bass and vocals) and Matt Schoolitz (guitar). The band was inspired to play extreme metal, which would artistically express their disdain for humanity. Demos were released in 1995 and 1996, both in limited copies. The band was dealt a hard blow when Mike moved out of state and subsequently left the band in late 1997. The band struggled for several years searching for permanent members to complete the line-up. However, during this period, Matt and Magnus never lost determination in accomplishing their vision and continued to write and rehearse material. In 1998, Misanthropy saw the permanent addition of bass player Chris Trout and things began to move forward again. In late 1999, guitarist Mike Rames returned to the fold and vocalist Tony Vargas was added as well. With this line-up, they released the now out of print mini-CD "Bound by Darkness" in 2001. Shortly after the release of this CD, vocalist Tony Vargas left the band in 2002. Guitarist Mike Rames once again assumed the responsibility of vocal duties. This has been the band's most formidable line-up to date. Currently, Misanthropy has written an arsenal of new material and played a number of live shows. The newest opus "Lord Perverse" has just been released and more material is to be recorded soon as Misanthropy continue to unleash their undying hatred on the masses.

Hello MISANTHROPY ! We thank you for your friendship! We shot our first video on the song "Pokrovy nebesnogo starca" along with friends from reconstruction club "Rodovit". I offer you to watch it and coment on it, if possible. Your opinion is important for us!
I believe the thrid diarrhea person most definitely enjoys it. Hahaha. So How did you guys get satan to track vocals for your band? You'd think he would be busy with all the Damning and the anal inserting of pineapples to record. I dig it though. -Justin
