After
picking up her first bass at age 14, Mische Eddins launched headlong into music-making,
playing just about everything from Alt-Country to Reggae to Goth to Rock in as
many bands. Despite all the fun to be had in other genres, her heart lies in melodic
bass-lines and semi-sad guitar tunes. Basically, she loves that melancholy pop-thing
and the music she writes reflects it.
After moving to Seattle in 1994 from North Carolina, she participated in various
support roles playing bass for local musicians and creating scores and sound design
for theatrical productions. Mische later teamed up with a few other creative and
adventurous Seattle muscicians to form acclaimed experimental pop band, Awkward
Star.
In 2003, Mische's focus turned to creating a body of her own work for release.
Some major talents lent themselves to the project including Bill Horist and Steve
Fisk. The EP, called Vertebrae No.5, was released in October 2003 and is available
at cdbaby.com.
In 2004, Mische went back into the studio to begin work on her full-length album,
Come Unwound. With Bill Horist at the wheel acting as producer and Randall Dunn
engineering, a team of remarkable musicians came together to help weave the fabric
of this record including Matt Chamberlain on drums, Dan Tyack on Pedal Steel,
Ollie Klomp with additional percussion, and Steve Moore on Wurlitzer and Celeste.

dark harmony that simultaneously invites and warns you".. "For the sake of comparison,
take Sheryl Crow, give her a deeper, sexier voice sung in a quieter tone and she
would sound like Eddins."
