About me:

Welcome to my space. I'm a writer and the author of The Chronicles of Anaedor: The Prophecies, a fantasy novel full of mischief, mystery and magic! Here's what it's about...

THE GIRL ABOVE

Strange things happen to fifteen-year-old Lavida Mors. Maybe that's why her father sends her away to Portal Manor, a mysterious family estate she has never seen. Lavida quickly discovers that not everything at Portal Manor is as it seems when she stumbles across a secret passage to a hidden world--Anaedor.

THE WORLD BELOW

Anaedor lies deep beneath the surface, separated from humanity, populated by mythical creatures. Long ago, ignorant humans, frightened by the powers of these magical and strange beings, forced them to flee to this dark world of huge caverns, frigid rivers and deep pits. It is these same creatures who take Lavida captive, forcing her to realize there might have been very good reasons for humans to be afraid.

THE PROPHECY BINDS THEM

Malevolent forces, led by the evil Malvado, seek to control all of Anaedor, but an ancient prophecy tells of a hero who will save these denizens of the deep. While trying to escape the dark realm with the help of her friends, Lavida must battle overgrown sharp-toothed leeches, survive a poison arrow and outwit a giant, all the while trying to convince the hopeful populace of Anaedor that she is not the savior they believe her to be.

NOTE: People have been wondering where to buy the book. Well, since I am going through an Indie press, my book is currently available over the internet (e.g., barnes & noble.com, amazon.com) or can be ordered through bookstores. In October of 2009, my book is scheduled to be released in bookstores nationwide!
Who I'd like to meet:
My ancestors and the cast and crew of Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth.

poem by Ing

The Oak King wore a crown made of deer antlers
intertwined with leafy branches of oak and mistletoe
bearing its white berries.

The Oak King was majestic as he strode through the
forest. He was following the sun, and he was finding
the path colder day by day.

Each time he crossed a stream, the Oak King would
take a drink. Each time he did, he began to see that
he was growing very old.

Soon the Oak King found it difficult to continue.

His old and stiffened body could not carry him much
further.

As he pulled himself to the edge of a calm, clear
spring, he said to himself; "Each day grows darker;
soon I shall die." The ancient Oak King bent to take
a drink. As he looked at his reflection, he saw ice
forming on the surface of the water. The Oak King
felt the darkness. The ice was closing his vital
drinking space.

Just as he was failing, the Oak King looked again at
his reflection in the spring. This time he saw the
ice melting away. The antlered crown of the Oak King
began to change. The rounded oak leaves became sharp
and pointed. The white mistletoe berries became red
as if the life fluids of all animals flowed into
them.

The Oak King lifted his head and felt the life force
grow strong within him. As he looked into the
unfreezing stream, this time he saw holly leaves
with red berries instead of oak and mistletoe.

The former Oak King, now the Holly King, leapt from
the stream bank, and pranced through the forest. He
now follows the sun on its upward course. With each
step the Holly King takes, he melts the ice, leaving
the ground ready for the Goddess to awaken her tiny
plants.

So Mote It Be!

And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.

And frost by the gate.

Hey! :) Thanks for the friend request! The new site's going pretty good. Tons of books to read -- it's crazy! But I'm loving it.

I'm actually planning on reading your book this weekend. School's been pretty crazy lately, so I haven't had AS MUCH time to read. But I'm on a fantasy kick, so as soon as I'm finished with Brisngr, I'm going to pick yours up! :)

I'm also organizing/reviewing Genre of the Month (genreofthemonth. blogspot. com), and September is animals/mythical creatures month. The Chronicals of Anaedor seems like it'd fit right in with the mythical creatures bit.

Hope you're doing well! :)
