Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Heart, Janis Joplin, Funk Brothers
Sounds Like
Rachelle has been compared with Janis Joplin, and Ann Wilson (of Heart) with soul. She's been busy singing and doing voiceovers on radio commercials. You'll catch her as the voice of Baycom, Members First Credit Union and Damon's!
Mike plays like none other and loves the style of John Bonham and especially jazz drummer Buddy Rich.
Carl has a unique guitar style all his own, and would say his influences are Bob Dylan, Edgar Winter, the Beatles and Paul Simon.
Jack is phenomenal on bass and can be compared to John Paul Jones and John Entwistle, who are some of his influences, among others, on bass.
Bobby Caldwell says his influences are Ray Charles and Smokey Robinson among several others. When you see the band, you'll hear the Ray Charles influence.
Scruffy Dog is a classic rock, dance, pop and blues cover tune band with some originals.
“Scruffy Dog’ is known on the live music scene as the best cover tune band in South East Michigan, as reported by the staff of the various venues, customers and even other bands and musicians. It is no wonder that Scruffy Dog is also known to be one of the most fun, liveliest, professional, busiest, and hardest working groups around.
Scruffy Dog has been together since 2001, although each of the members have been visible and on the scene throughout Michigan, Oklahoma and the Midwest for the last 30 years!
With hardly a week off, demand for their musical performance continues. If you wish to book the band, contact Rachelle (@ 810-338-7769).
The band is versatile enough and has the material to tailor our performance to the taste of the crowd for any event. We perform for clubs, wedding receptions, private parties, and have opened for concert headliners. The list goes on. We work hard, love what we do, and it shows in our performance.

As usual, you guys sounded awesome last night at the 'Grill'. Bill Strickler was fun to watch & listen to, as well - never tire of him. Thanks for an evening of entertainment at its best! The Brat.
How is Bobby doing? I think I'll head down to Bubba's tomorrow night, called Dean to see what he was doing, haven't hung out with him in a long time. I think he'll like the music. I'm sending new Avon books with Courtney tonight. See you sometime, probably Blue Collar in April.
