They are all accounted for and the story is told.
"They" are my children. Paula. Patricia. Nick. There comes a time in some mens lifes that it is "fess up" time. That time for me is now. Those three names I mentioned above need to know a little, actually a lot, about their father who was not there for them while they were growing up.
This, sadly, is all I have to give them now. My chance at showering them with love and support and all that goes with being a father is long past due and sadly, sadly lacking. I can only give them my words. This book is for them. If no one else reads it, it does not matter, this book is for them. Oh, I hope others might want to delve into the sins of one man who was raised with 1950's values and busted into the 1960's and 70's with a gusto for all the forbidden there was to savor, and there was much to savor. I will aggresively promote this, because it is a story worth telling and reading.
"This is a story of excesses, both sexually and immorally. This will be a story of a man who ran from himself and in the process almost took his life more than once in the process. I have known for many years that I was going to write my memoirs. It is only recently, however, that I have felt the real "need" to write an account of my life. It will be as straightforward as possible for me to tell it. It will be as true to what happened, or what I remember happened, as I can possibly can write it. Will my name be tarnished? I doubt it can be tarnished much more than I, myself, feel it already has been. Again, I will write my life in my name and hopefully I can say what needs to be said and not fudge anything . . .
