Misery Loves Company was founded in 2002, with no knowledge of any other bands with the same name. It now appears there are several bands, worldwide, of this name, but it also appears that we don't give a damn.
We play folk, blues, country and insane music, and try to mix insane jubilee with extreme melancholy. Originally we tried to sound as much like Tom Waits as we could, but today we've expanded our sound, to try to create something of our own, although there are some aspects of our Waitsian origin still left. In terms of songwriting we've veered more towards Leonard Cohen, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Nick Cave and several others in latter years. In terms of sound... We're not sure where we stand.
Misery Loves Company has played all around Iceland, and is trying to get an album out.
Við vildum bara minna á eftirfarandi dansiball. Lukku Láki, 24. maí, á morgun, beint eftir að Íslandi hefur loksins tekist að vinna Evróvisjón og við erum að búast við þér á staðnum í hörku stuði! Við lofum að spila ekki eitt einasta Eurovision lag, þar sem við vitum að landinn verður kominn með hundleið á þeim þegar líða tekur á nóttina ;)
James is coming to Reckyvick this weekend and needs to hook up with Doddi. Do you know his number?? What is going on at Cafe Rosenberg? Hope you are all fine
