| General | I like to move - shimmy, shiver, slink - whatevah. Soooo Bellydancing: cabaret (Egyptian and American), fusion, gothic, ATS and gypsy. Love to burn and play with fire and throwing that in with the dance is even better. Show me something with scales and I'm a happy girl. Any kind of art will also hold my interest. Things that go BUMP in the nite. Ancient Japanese culture and the niceties it spawned. Americana and roadtrips, and yeah, in the bad tacky tasteless way. The environment and nature - hiking, curling up under a shady tree (or climbing it), and being around critters. Teaching, especially about science and/or the environment and inquiry based learning. Vegetarian yumminess. The Adventurers Club (my favorite getaway). Hack n slash sewing (especially costumes), DIY, crochet and making and splicing and and and....Oh, and shiney/spikey/slicey things are nice too! | | Music | See interests above; is it sound? Can I move to it? Sold. But I do have an alarmingly eclectic taste in tunes. | | Movies | I'm a sucker for just about any Vincent Price film and the remakes of the old Castle films. So horror films are good, and my geekiness allows for anime and movie versions of comic films (especially Vertigo titles). Bad 80s films, too. The Crow, Strictly Ballroom, 28 Days Later, Sin City, American Psycho, Desperado, A Clockwork Orange, The Weatherwoman, Attack the Gas Station, Titus, Richard III, The Transporter, Ghost Ship (hahahaha), Psycho, Jawbreaker, Better Luck Tommorrow, Heathers, Snatch, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Labyrinth, Lacho Drom, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, anything Lynch. | | Television | not much, but history, Twin Peaks, Invader Zim and Adult Swim when applicable | | Books | The Tale of Genji and the Pillowbook, The Inferno, Heart of Darkness, Snakebite Survivor's Club, The Stranger, Naked Lunch, nature and science, true crime and really anything historical nonfiction on war, plague, disease or death. I adore comics too (wolverine, lenore, johnny the homicidal maniac, sandman, etc). Too many to list, really. | | Heroes | My hubby/kungfu sensei turned drummer:

About me:
Sooner or later I'll get the hang of this thing...
***MISHA*** is a bellydance instructor and performer based in Sarasota, Florida! She specializes in several different bellydance styles including: Raqs Sharqi (Egyptian style), Turkish, and American Oriental. She also enjoys dancing more modern forms of dance such as American and Improvisational Tribal Style, neo-tribal fusion and gothic. Misha embraces any opportunity to dance and can be found performing throughout the state as a soloist and featured troupe dancer. Now Misha appears with the Tampa based troupes Bal Hepsi, Bal Fahjar, and occasionally Troupe Zahara. She is also the Dance Facilitator for PURE Sarasota.
Misha is also a skilled teacher, well known for her Drills, Bellydance Basics, Slink and Shimmy and Tribal classes. Described by her students as a 'welcoming, wonderful, patient teacher,' Misha's classes have been called 'great fun,' 'exciting,' and 'theraputic' by women ranging in age from 13 to 30 to 75! With a Master's degree in education, Misha strives to bring her students a dance curriculum that will best benefit a variety of different learning styles and interest levels and helps her students to, above all, have fun while enjoying this most beautiful dance form. She has studied with many local teachers and has taken numerous workshops with an array of incredible instructors including: Ansuya, Rachel Brice, Jillina, Artemis, Mardi Love, Zoe Jakes, Moria, Kami Liddle, Sonia, Astyrd, Fahtiem, Angelika Nehmeth, Suhaila, Jill Parker, Gypsy Caravan, Fat Chance Bellydance, Ahmet, and more! She absolutely loves to teach and share her knowledge with others. Misha is committed to providing a safe, fun learning enviroment for women of all ages and ability levels. Classes are held WEDNESDAYS at Isle of Avalon and MONDAYS at Makibashira Dojo. Please check my blog links above for more info.

Let's see - I'm the Dark Cupcake of Goodness and the Girl with the Green Eyes - intuitive, sarcastic, loyal, creative, soft yet firm, feline, smarmy, sometimes dark but sometimes shiney...an artist, teacher, belly dancer, fire lover and snake handler.
