Welcome to Misquamicut Beach
Surf, Sun & Sand
Spanning seven miles from Watch Hill to Weekapaug, this is Rhode Island's longest stretch of beach with its pristine waters and white sand. Misquamicut Beach features an array of activities for the entire family, including our state of the art Pavilion with plenty of parking. Activities include amusement parks with a carousel, mini-golf, go-carts, batting cages, kiddy rides and more. State of the art Water Slides and Jet Ski's keep you moving in the summer sun. Misquamicut Beach is the perfect place to ride the waves.
Enjoy native lobsters, steamers and swordfish from Block Island sound on the beach at our area's best restaurants including Paddy's, Andrea and Pleasant View. Stop by Sam's Snack bar for some clam strips or see Maria at Little Mermaids for breakfast and lunch or a thick shake or visit Maria's Seaside Cafe for fine dining too! How about taking a stroll along the breachway and sample the Seafood Haven's award winning chowder and fritters? While at that end of the beach you can stop by the Breachway Market for a grinder or the Tiki Guy for your surf supplies. Also stop by the Beach Store for all of your supplies from sun tan lotion to tee-shirts.
The fun doesn't set with the sun. There is plenty of nightlife for couples and singles alike. Dance the night away to the best Rock & Roll bands or perhaps try your hand at Karaoke while at Sandy's Lighthouse. Check out the nightlife with the DJ's and bands at Paddy's and The Andrea. While soaking up the rays on weekends, you can hear your favorite tunes at these beachfront resorts including the Windjammer deck.
For a quieter evening at some of our more luxurious restaurants and lounges, stop by Maria's Seaside Café, run for many years by the Bellone family. You can try Venice Restaurant with it's 3 story high panoramic view of the entire beach or watch the sun set behind the Watch Hill Lighthouse while dining in the upper hatch of the Pleasant View Inn. Just minutes from the beach is Dunn's Corners with WB Cody's Steakhouse, Dunn's Corners Pizza and Dunns Corners Market.
For the kids, there are weekly big screen movies on the beach, free of charge. Parents can check out all of the great shops. Surfers stop by Alfies Surf Shop, and Johnny's World Famous Beach Stuff for their surf supplies, or head over to John Sheil's Ride-A-Wave Surf Shop for the day's surf info. Weekly Classic Car Shows on Thursdays as well as weekly magic shows at Paddy's on the same night, our Annual Misquamicut Music Festival and several Fireworks Display will keep you entertained.
Our beach offers numerous quality accommodations. From the luxury of the Breezeway Resort and the Sea Shell Motel, to rooms directly on the beach at the Sandy Shore Motel, Andrea, Sand Castle Beach Front Inn, or Pleasant View Inn, we have it all for the most discriminating traveler to the casual beachgoer. Stanton Realty, the Beachcomber or Randall, Realty/GMAC can direct you to any of Misquamicut's rental cottages on or near the beach for a longer stay, or you can stop by one of our B&B's, like the Villa B&B, Langworthy Farm B&B and Winery or Grandview B&B.
Golfers will take pleasure in Misquamicut's seaside courses. Try for a hole in one while watching sailboats and windsurfers go by. The fall is also a great time to visit our beach. Many of our hotels offer year round accommodations. Our area offers some of the best fishing in the Northeast. Just as Charlie at Weekapaug Bait and Tackle for all of the information you will need. Watch beautiful horses spend a day each September riding along the shore. Check out Guy Fawkes Bonfire Night in October which features some of the best in local theater. www.guyfawkesusa.com
