Inspiration comes from many diverse sources: a period of working in the world of extraordinarily indulgent chocolate cake creation; naughty Victoriana; Golden Age of Hollywood glamour; grandparents' reminiscences of mid-century high living in London and holidays on the French Riviera; a tempting Chelsea Bun in a bakers’ windows; the hundredth anniversary of the birth of Greta Garbo; Tatlin's Monument to the Third International and tempestuous rain seen through a window of fine claret bottles to name but a few.

After eight years, Miss Bellasis is taking a break of unspecified length from nipple tasselry; putting down needle, thread, satin and haberdashery she is purposefully striding off towards new pastures. The decision has not been taken lightly; the regret is tinged with feelings of wistfulness and nostalgia but it is also tempered by a desire to explore other possibilites, both creative and academic. This page will stay up; because it's so difficult to let go completely and because one day she might reshape herself into another project.
