Gli ARMSTRONG? nascono nel 2005 come
proposta di suono sperimentale e sognante.
Influenzati da ricche suggestioni cinematografiche,
la loro musica si presenta come un canto lontano la cui
malinconia prevale in tutte le sue espressioni rincorrendo
le immagini del quotidiano e le fasi del sonno.
Autori di una prima release autoprodotta
(“Promo” del 2006) dalla scarsa diStribuzione, è in realtà l'ep
“Me, You and our mutual alibi” dell'anno seguente a farli conoscere
a pubblico e addetti stampa del circuito indipendente.
Accolto, infatti, da ottimi riscontri da parte
delle migliori testate nazionali ed internazionali, l'ep
diventa da subito pretesto per un'attività live di promozione
che li porta a suonare in giro per l'Italia.
Aprono, tra gli altri, concerti di Shout Out Louds
e degli americani The Uglysuit, toccando i live club
più attivi della penisola.
Nel novembre 2008 l'evento romano Sporcoimpossibile
li invita sul palco del Circolo degli Artisti a rappresentare
lo stato di salute della musica indipendente italiana.
Nel Settembre 2009, esce per la neonata 70 Horses Records il
nuovo disco“Collateral” in cui la indie band torinese intensifica
i rapporti in essere tra melodia e sperimentazione.
La costanza nella ricerca del suono e una visione tutta loro della
forma canzone danno vita ad un progetto in continua crescita e
rinnovamento.
Con echi dello shoegaze anni '90 e atmosfere
cinematografiche, per i fan di certo indie rock con inclinazioni
post.
