----- In September of 2007, MR. PLOW was conceived after many, (many) margaritas very late one night on a beach in Nassau, Bahamas. Jimmy Brotherton (drums), Steve Wright (bass, vox) and Jim Burmeister (guitar, harmonica and vox) were passing the time the night before a rare (very rare) international gig medicating themselves with as many margaritas as the waitress could deliver. Unhappy with the current musical 'vehicle' they shared with an unnamed fourth member, and yearning to break free from that situation just as soon as was practically possible, many ideas were discussed and dismissed. It would be interesting to list a few of those ideas here, but nobody can seem to remember any of them! Suffice it to say that an old friend of theirs, (recently in the market for a new gig),seemed to be the best option for everyone. Anyway, to make a lng story short, in the early morning glare of a glorious Bahamian sunrise, (and a few more margaritas), it was decided. MR. PLOW was born.
------ MR. PLOW is a band that's chock full of soaring harmonies sang with a lot of feeling by experienced, 'hrmony prone' singers just like in the 'good 'ol days' of rock-n-roll. They also have not just one, but TWO talented multi-instrumentalists, a grooving bedrock of thythm section, and a drummer who can be as much fun to watch as he is to hear. Even though 3 of the 4 members of MR. PLOW have shared the stage for the last 6 or so years, it should be made abundantly clear that THAT band is not THIS band! As well as adding a NEW singer/mlti-instrumentalist who will handle a lot more of the lead vocals, there's also a new songlist, a new and growing following, a new attitude, and a new more entertaining stage show that reflects the enthusiasm that all these changes bring. This created a new enthusiasm in the listening audience.
------- MR. PLOW is also a band that has deep roots in the Parkland, sporting former members of (and dating back to) such groups as Medallion, the Beaver Bros., Kartunes, Elevator and the more obscure road band Red Rover. There may be more than a few locals who remember some (or all) of these bands. While there is almost 100 years of professional playing experience encompassed in this four piece group, it is still a new band trying to answer the question 'who the hell is MR. PLOW!?'
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TIM GOVERO(LEAD & BACKING VOCALS/GUITAR/KEYBOARDS/PERCUSSION)
Tim hails from Festus, MO and that is where he still makes his home. He is a 20 year veteran of many bands such as Red Rover and Medallion. Weilding a pair of Fender guitars (American Strat & Tele) as well as doing double-duty on Roland keys, Tim is a fantastic frontman, great ..s and a burgeoinng guitarist as well. It's also not uncommon to find him choking the mic, shaking a tambourine, and literally kicking the crowd into a rump-shaking frenzy.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BEEZER JACKSON(LEAD & RHYTHM GUITARS/LEAD & BACKROUND VOCALS
James (Beezer) Jackson is the newest member of the group, coming on board in September of '08 and bringing with him not only extensive experience gained in such bands as Dilemma, Joker, and I NO-U NO, but also the musical genetics of his local-legend father Dale. Highly regarded as the ruling rock guitar god of the area, Beez brings alot to the party, not the least of which is his ripping guitar tone and his heavily eighties influenced shredding. Beezer's addition to MR. PLOW has given the band a new energy and the final piece of the puzzle in creating the "TEAM" vibe we have waited for for so long.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STEVE WRIGHT(BASS GUITAR/LEAD & BACKROUND VOCALS)
Without a doubt the heartbeat of MR. PLOW. Twenty plus years of playing and singing in a variety of bands, Steve is a prime example (in the rock-n-roll tradition) of an earth-shaking bass player who possesses a high, clear, beautiful lead and harmony voice that sends shivers up your spine while his bass assaults yours ears and your gut. After a few years as the bass player in Kartunes, Steve moved to Florissant and anchored several bands on the St. Louis scene before coming back to join Elevator in '02.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JIMMY BROTHERTON(DRUMS/PERCUSSION)
A former member of Red Rover, Beaver Bros., and Elevator, Jimmy is definitely not your average drummer! His main task is to keep the band, (as well as the crowd) continually kicked in the ass! Wigh a deep appreciation of groove and technique, and a zen-like knowledge of showmanship, he's an asset to say the least. It's not easy to explain Jimmy's show. 'Windmills', stick twirling and tosses, (sometimes to other band members-and back) without dropping the stick-(or the beat) all with pounding rock-n-roll drums help make watching a MR. PLOW show a rare treat.
