Silence and an open mind, the grit of the earth beneath my boots, the eyes of innocent creatures and the comfort and warmth of the bright yellow sun in the biting cool of clean mountain air. Also the musical stylings of a host of artists whose fame has come by the sweat on their brow.
There's a lot going on. For instance... I just got ticketed for forgetting to put the registration tags on my car and that makes me anxious. I keep looking over my shoulder waiting for some kind of sneak attack. I am not sure if that's considered cynicism. I never thought I would record the songs I make. Most of them come together in the humble four walled sanctuary that is my bedroom. I just turned 25 years old, people (over 25) tell me almost every time I mention that, that 25 was their best year of life. I don't know, I just hope it's better than 24. With all the hubub that grinds us in the day to day it's important to keep something back for ourselves, what I mean is a place or some time that we reserve. I like to be a part of something much bigger than I am. The vastness and the hope of the open sky, my little tiny thoughts as compared to God and His, that's what I'm talking about. I love to swim in Maui, the water is big, huge even, but the thing is you can see through it. And music. Music is that place I go to say and feel all the things I can't when everyone is watching... as it turns out, I am letting you in. Well I hope you enjoy the tunes. Maybe I'll see you around soon.
