It's early in the year, but we could easily say now the ROYAL HEADACHE 7" is going to be one of the 7"s remembered from 2010! Totally worth the wait, this is a raging 4 tracks of ultra high energy catchy PUNK w/ real dirty, primal recording. While you can def. hear their sound is heavily informed by your 60's garage or 70's punk or 80's power pop, it's difficult to pick any particular reference point, and their tunes are immediately distinctive and totally addictive. A+++ This List is a dozen pieces of music which we think are both worthy of your attention and sounds that you are also enjoying and giving us feedback on (as well as rabidly anticipating).Wait no more as the Debut 7" from Sydney's Royal Headache is here from the great folks at R.I.P. CD Releases we highly recommend these : the brand new Houlette full length Bless Bless on exo, the mighty Out of Phase album from Home Blitz, Belus album from Burzum (vinyl upcoming),the 40 track Double CD set from Melb 80's tearaways GOD, the authentic 60's garage howl from The Frowning Clouds, the reissue on HAC from Sydney mid 80's Rock dynamos The Eastern Dark ('Where are all the single girls ?'), the Blastasfuk label (gulp) 64 track 2004-2009 compile from Chainsaw to the Face (which comes with a free 3" CD), our own label reissue of Sydney's Skate/Surf champs the Hellmenn, and last but not least, the new Oz issued full length from Liverpool lads The Cubical, which shakes up a clatter blues R'n'R storm and gets queries to the counter each and every time we play it! So there you go..a Dozen Choice Music Options where it's pretty friggin' hard to go wrong ! And if we were to bust out a couple of runner upperers it would absolutely be our restock LP's of the great Six Finger Satellite newie 'A Good Year For Hardness' and the mind melting magic of the unearthed 1971 sessions from Arthur Lee and band as Love (we got it on LP and CD) in which the Sundazed label deserve a years supply of free chocolate and coffee. But hey, we said we'd leave it at 12 so we won't mention those last two ok. Cassette fans, we've had 40+ new tapes arrive in the past few days from local and overseas artists, from a number of labels including Wuss, Eggy, Goaty, Fan Death and Bum Tapes, with artists including Broken Neck, Sealings, Hanging Coffins, Taco Leg/Constant Mongrel (split), The Chickens, Storage Unit, and a shittonne more... So dust off yr Sony Walkman and get into some weird and wonderful sounds from a whole spectrum of genres from across the world!!
