The Mission Babies have come from playing their earlier gigs at liverpools well known venues the zanzibar, cavern, barfly and now within their first year of playing they have headlined the liverpool carling academy more than once, headlined manchester academy, supported 'the holloways' at reading university and stole the show, played the caverns 50th birthday, had a full page write up in the free metro paper, had tracks played on juice fm's tom byrne show for 3 weeks running, played the the first beatles day at the 'hard days night hotel' with 80's band flock of segulls, ian mcnab of icicle works, ian prowse of amsterdam and chris finley of the hermans hermits and now they are an exclusive band for the liverpool carling academy where they recently sold out. They have the newsest sound i have heard in a long time, a sound i rarely hear in liverpool. With all the sterio-typical scouse melodic symphonys and slang vocals around at the moment it's a change to say these guys differ from that profoundly. With the lead singer kenny van johnston carrying the fire of springsteen and strummer, lead guitarist jay ryder making his guitar sound so dominant but yet so delicious, bassist billy lake playing his bass in a way that would make booty collins gasp for air and hollar and drummer Danny Mc just a 15year old kid who can play as good as john bonham. You really have to see these guys perform, undoubtably pure magic.

I think Rambos should be the official TMB photographer. Ho ho i'm gonna start getting you boys when you're in a tangle for bribery purposes. I'm still waitin for those unmarked 5p's at the Asda bottle bank...tick tock Kenny, tick tock..xxx
Really liking your strong guitar and drum sound, and the roughness (I mean that in a good way!) of Kenny's voice. Partic. liked the restless drums in Wait For Me, which reminded me of early Icicle Works, and that can only be a good thing! There's a couple of good smallish music venues near where I live in Hertfordshire; let me know if you're of a mind to come down south and I can give you details.
nice one for coming the zanzi the other night boys..we,ll sort a joint gig out soon..theres thursday nights avalible in kirkby, free booze for playing & only need ur guitars..everything else provided..let me know when ur free & well sort sumit out..
