Music has always been a part of my life. Coming from a musical family where both parents played instruments, it was just a matter of time before I found my musical identity. At 15, I strapped on my dad's bass and just started banging away. Even though I would also take up guitar in my adult years, bass is still my my primary instrument.
Back when I was attending Gordonsville High School in the 80's, I fell in love with bands like Twised Sister and Motley Crue. Those were my heros--my gods. When I came to know Jesus Christ, He called me out of those and showed me that there were quite a few Christian artists doing the same style of music. I quickly came to love Petra, Whitecross, Bride, Stryper, etc. Even though I wanted to be in a professional rock band, the Lord called me to preach the Gospel. But, that love and desire to make music has stayed with me even after surrendering to God's calling and becoming a youth pastor for Community Baptist Church, Lebanon, TN. A few years ago, I put together my own home studio and began writing and self producing my own CDs.
Mission Of One is pretty much a one man project. I do all of the vocals, rhythm guitars, and bass. I've worked with a few really cool musicians to help complete my projects over the years, but I've never been able to put together a full band. Regardless, I keep making music and telling anyone who hears about my Savior Jesus Christ through those songs.
Currently, a new self-titled CD is in the works. Mission Of One is again mostly a one man project. Not only have I done the rhythm guitars, bass, and vocals, this time I have stepped up and done most of the lead guitars as well. My brother Darren came in and has recorded all the drum tracks this time around. The new CD is really a mix of all the styles of music I love. You will hear some 70's rock, 80's rock/metal, and some modern rock/punk. You might even hear all of that in one song! I just turned on the recorder and used it as a musical blender. Let's hope that you guys & gals love it.

I've been in the same boat as you. I can't seem to build or join a band that stays together. I know God gave me my talents. I'm just wondering when and where He'll let me use them.
