Miss Jeanette Baker began her career at the early age of 3 years old. Her Father, Freddie Baker, was an actor in early movies, musician, and singer. Growing up, Jeanette was surrounded by musicians, singers, and actors in the entertainment business. She knew she was destined to sing and loved to play the piano. Miss Baker had a big hit song entitled "Hey Boy, Hey Girl" that she sang with Oscar Mclollie. The song took her all over the world. She has performed for dignitaries, politicians, and even for President Ford and Mrs. Ford.
She has always been a humanitarian and joined various organizations such as SAG, AFTRA, Los Angeles Club of Recording Artists, NAACP, National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, to name a few. Miss Baker traveled the world entertaining, which she is still currently doing today. She also performed for the troops though the USO. She is loved by all those that know her. She has performed with such artists as Nate King Cole, Ray Charles, James Brown, The Everyly Brothers, Little Richard, The Coasters, and countless other wonderful artists who she remains friends with today. Miss Baker did a compilation with the late great Jesse Belvin (who is on the new "Smell the Roses" CD). Jesse was a close and dear friend to here in her early teenage years; they remained friends until his passing in 1960. She is also the wife of the late great Johnny Flamingo who subcomed to cancer in 2000. She continues to sing and loves to play her piano. Miss Baker loves working with children, which is expressed on her new CD, and wishes to give a heart felt thank you to all those who participated in the making of the "Smell The Roses" CD a reality, for without their contribution and hard work, the CD could not have been possible.
