wHO, wHAT, wHERE?
Laura Vane. Artist. Brighton UK / Clouds. I love to talk, I like to drink…. And I’m quite capable of getting carried away when I do these things simultaneously. This isn't my life story, but its a few key details you might wanna know about me. So if ya got a moment…please read on.
bLAST fROM tHE pAST:
I’ve had some dance releases on labels such as Ministry, Soulfuric, Device, Big Love, Toolroom, Juicy and Ink, with peeps such as ROBBIE RIVERA, MJ COLE and DAVE SPOON which have received airplay and support from well known Radio Djs, such as PETE TONG, and on shows such as 1XTRA.
mOST rECENTLY:
I’ve continued working with THE STREETS since 'The Hardest to Make and Easy Living' 2006 for their new album, which is pending release in the spring of 2008. I have also worked it live with GNARLS BARKLEY, and enjoyed a little TOP OF THE POPS moonlighting! Most treasured gigs include performing alongside respected singer / songwriters such as OMAR, CARLEEN ANDERSON and LEWIS TAYLOR.
wHAT’S cOOKING?
Collaborative Cook Books include: the PART TIME HEROES (Wah Wah), firmly supported by GILLES PETERSON released their debut album 'Meanwhile...' on which I feature in the summer of 2008. Following a successful tour in Japan September, PTH have now started work on album 2! WATCH OUT! Me and the boys are pulling together big time. I'm very excited! DIESLER 's (Tru Thoughts/Freestyle) latest album 'The Rhythm Station' of 2007, introduces two new tracks to our catalogue of collaborations, and HINT's (Tru Thoughts) 'At the Dance' EP, released late 2007 tucks me in neatly and his fresh new album 'Driven to Distraction', released in July 2008 see's me feature twice nicely!
Also I am featured on the new HARDKANDY album ‘Second to None’ (Wah Wah 45) also released in July 2008. There is definately some heat in the kitchen...
I have also had the opportunity to provide vocals for Kidda’s track which is currently used for the Bacardi Mojito advert and also for an ITV2 ident which is being screened on television and cinemas all over the UK.

NOW you have arrived at LAURA VANE AND THE VIPERTONES! It's a funny story how this came together...and myspace has played a big part in the beginning. The creators of this fresh new project are Jonathan Radford AKA Diesler, Phil Martin (Jazzinvaders), Ton Van Der Kolk (Soul Snatchers), and my good self. CHECK us out at www.myspace.com/lauravaneandthevipertones We had a gig booked together in Holland before we'd met and we wrote and recorded 2 songs within 48 hours of getting together. Yes, it was just meant to be! This album will satisfy the people, who like myself, bury themselves in yester-year, who always feel the pull of motown, old fashioned soul and funk. We have a 7" due for release on Unique Records on January 31st 2009!! So, don't waste any time getting your sticky mits on this one, its a cracker!!
