.A Detroit native, singer, songwriter, and actress, her influences are Sarah Mclachlan, The Dave Matthews Band, Prince, Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne, Pink, Mary J. Blige, and Tina Turner. Her style of music is a Crossover Pop/R&B that very much agrees with the urban and contemporary markets. Currently playing shows in the United States, her hometown is Detroit Michigan. Although the title track of her album debut, "Rock Steady", was originally meant to be a demo for submission to the industry, she sold a total of 1135 copies of the album through street sales and shows after its second month’s release. Jesse Johnson (Prince, The Time, Bare My Naked Soul - Album) produced 4 of the tracks featured on the album, while the other 4 were composed and produced by herself. A beautiful blend of Pop and Rock music over Lisa's Soulful yet Edgy riffs make “Rock Steady” a product of true originality. She is also a classical pianist and violinist. Currently performing her music cross country, she has been featured this year in Venus Diva Magazine, BIG The Magazine, “Conversations With Theo” on TV 33 Comcast/88.1 FM, the J.D. Hill Show, "A Funk Above The Rest" with Denver Radio Host Skip Reeves and The International Jazz Festival. “Rock Steady” was just recently reviewed in The Music Connection Magazine, where the album received a rating of 7 out of the top 100 new artist reviews. Currently, Lisa has returned to the studio where she is completing her second album “Redemption”.
Aside from singing, she is an accomplished actor with film, television and theatrical credits to prove. A proud member of The Screen Actors Guild, Actors Equity and The American Federation For Television and Radio Artist, her credits include, “The Future Stars on Broadway” which played at Detroit’s Historic Music Hall. She was requested by Tap Dancer and Broadway Choreographer Ted Louis Levy (former tap choreographer for Gregory Hines and Savion Glover), who also requested her abilities for a solo in his feature show “One More Rhythm” which played at The Jazz Café (Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan). In this show, Lisa took the stage and performed “Flying Home” by Ella Fitzgerald. Some say, “with every scat in place”. Prior to her performance as “Ella”, Lisa was featured as another jazz legend in the off-Broadway play “Queen Of The Blues”, directed by Jerry Jones (Writer/Producer of Dolemite). Lisa was cast as Billie Holiday. Changing up her look, style and even her speaking voice, she quickly went from her 20’s to late 40’s to depict the troubled singer at some of the last stages of her life. Her performance received raved reviews and held an extra two week slot, by request, at The Stella Adler Theater in Hollywood, California.
