After a hiatus while my mouseygeeky alter-ego finished up grad school, I'm back, and finally and setting up this long-overdue profile. I'm in the process of migrating 5 years of advice into the blog. It's a little bit messy. Apparently back-dating posts to 2003 is not an option.
Disclaimer: Take my advice at your own risk. I'm not a licensed therapist, nor a psychic, nor do I have any credentials to give anyone any kind of legal or health advice. I just like to tell people how to run their lives.
Somehow or another I became the official Freezepop advice columnist. I think more bands could use an advice columnist, don't you?
After several years of reading problems sent to me, I have come up with a few rules to live by:
1. Asking doesn't guarantee that you'll get what you want, but you certainly won't get it if you don't ask. This applies to all areas of life. This is especially for all of you (and there are A LOT of you out there) who are in love with your best friend.
2. Honesty is almost always the best answer. If the truth is going to really hurt someone, it doesn't mean you should withhold it, but maybe you should find a way to state it that might lessen the blow.
3. There is no excuse for bad behavior. Period.
4. Are you sure that the cute chick on the other end of the chat is who she says? Really?
5. This is not a dress rehearsal. You get one chance, so make the most of it. Be who you are, and be the best at it. And be good to others while you're at it.
