Mix up a little rockabilly, jump blues and hillbilly honkytonk, stir in a nice piece of sass, and you'll get a heapin' helpin' of Miss Major & her Minor Mood Swings.
Miss Major is Julie Major on vocals; Paul Coughlin on guitar; Mick Munoz on drums; and Tim Rose on upright bass.
Miss Major has opened for renowned acts like rockabilly queen Wanda Jackson, Johnny Cash's original band Tennessee Three, KC rockabilly kings The Rumblejetts, and sacred steel blues ensemble The Lee Boys.
Influences
The band's musical influences swing from Janis Martin, Ruth Brown and Rose Maddox to Hank Thompson, Webb Pierce and Johnny Horton. And what Miss Major plays ain't the kind of music you'll want to just sit down and listen to. It'll make you want to grab a tall cold longneck in one hand, your hot li'l sweetie in the other and dance on the juke joint's table top.
This music is for anybody who loves dirt roads and dusty boots; yard beers and toe-tappin' tunes; Hatch Show Print and Scully shirts; Rocketbuster Boots and longneck bottles. And anybody who felt lonesome on a Saturday night. This is the music inspired by you.
"Julie Major is a rockabilly tornado, no doubt about it. Her powerful vocals will raise the roof as she covers classic tunes by the likes of Wanda Jackson, Rosie Flores and Marti Brom with an old-timey honkytonk sound and heaps of modern verve. Backed by a tight-knit band playing Gibson guitar, upright bass and drums, Miss Major yowls and croons timeless songs with a joyous, reckless abandon. Hep music fans and dancers better prepare for a whirlwind time when Miss Major takes the stage." Pete Dulin, publisher, www.presentmagazine.com

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4
