Sounds Like
This review from Norman Records:
"Finally from me we have a lathe cut 7" from Miss McGarry on Heliotone. It sounds like the Regina Spektor record pressed onto 78 and thrown down the stairs. Or the theme music to silent black and white films. Or an even crazier (yep I know, its hard to believe) Fiery Furnances. Limited to 50 so you won't be seeing it on Top of the Pops next week."
Miss Clare McGarry's the name, but I have many nick names like Denga, Narco and Mrs Mooney.
I've joined a band called the Scottish Toy Orkestra. We make music using children's toys and household appliances like hoovers. We played twice at the West End Festival this year, playing with the terrific Tattie Toes in December.
I'm also co-writing the music for a new children's show 'Crooked.' Myself and Greg Sinclair are devising all music and material, and are both in it! We presently have two Meerkats who live in an old piano and make friends with some gnomes.
Other than that I've finished a first draft of my play Fudge Face, through the Playwright's Studio Scotland. Biding my time with this one, want to get it right.
Happy birthday Miss McGarry!! Just found your fart-noise-thing that you gave me at your party - very useful for entertaining my nephews so thanks for that! Fi x
