Passing school.. but really, art, history, music, traveling, women's studies, religion, cultural evaluation, languages in general, coffee, tea, good friends, beautiful boys, kilts, yoga, swimming, reading books not related to school, dancing and basically anything British.
Music
Pretty much a montage... Enya to Jimi Hendrix and everything in between except Country. Some current favorites are Gaelic Storm, Spoon, Blue October, Dixie Chicks, Shakira, MATISYAHU (woot!), BTE, Anberlin, Radiohead, R.E.M., and many a soundtrack (Gladiator, Braveheart, Narnia, etc).
Movies
First and forever, Braveheart... followed closely by 28 Days Later (quite deep, in fact, a real commentary on modern culture), Bridget Jones' Diary (of questionable content I know.. but I have two words for you "Colin" and "Firth") and Waking Ned Devine. Other habitual favorites include Wallace and Gromit, Gladiator, The Full Monty (really not as bad as you probably think...), 28 days later, Lord the Rings, My Best Friend's Wedding, A Girl with One Pear Earring, The Four Feathers, Four Weddings and a Funeral...
Television
BBC (why bother watching any other "news" station.. I mean really...), Simpsons, Grounded for Life and whatever's on the History Channel unless it's about World War II, which seems to comprise about half of their programming now a days... and Lost, of course.
Books
The Bible, all the Harry Potter books (ironic, I know), Moby Dick, Alice in Wonderland, War and Peace/Tolstoy, Pride and Prejudice, C.S. Lewis in General, anything having to do with ancient women's studies, ancient studies in general (yes, I know the word "NERD" tattooed on my forehead grows along with this list), and.... drumroll, please: Modern Art and the Death of a Culture. A must read for any Christian out to change the world in Christ's name.
Heroes
William Wallace and Monty Python... the latter gets in simply because he's hilarious.... and of course, Jesus, but honestly that seems a little trite, as he's much more than that.
About me: So I've come up with this brilliant new thing. It's called the Lewis and Clark list. Basically, it consists of things I think are horriblely overrated. The list is named for the first item on it.
1) Lewis and Clark. WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL? If anyone wants to fund my expedition, I'll show the world how going from Missouri to the Pacific is not worth idolizing two nerds over! Oy vey!
2) George Washington. So he was the first president. Whatever.
3)Abraham Lincoln. Honestly... wasn't that cool (sorry Abe).
4)Medical Science. Is it just me or is it an arrogant Western assumption to think that cutting someone open (surgery)and pumping them full of chemicals (drugs, medication, whatever...) is somehow better than a wholistic approach?
