MISSPINKSHOES are an eclectic sounding 4 piece from Staines, West London.
Resolutely pop sounding with big choruses and catchy-as-fuck hooks, MPS’ songs run the gamut from energetic synth-led new-wave pop to massive rock anthems, electronica to film soundtrack all the way through to 50’s doo-wop and dirty punk while sounding like no-one but themselves.
2008 saw them win BEST POP ACT at the Indy Awards, an honour almost beaten by playing such prestigious venues as The London Astoria 2, The Clapham Grand and the Half Moon in Putney converting many people on the way. They also supported fellow Staines band
Hard-Fi at their local boozer after an HMV in-store signing to a predictably massive crowd. 2009 promises to be an awesome year with more London dates about to be confirmed and a shiny new EP to be released by the end of the year.
On vocals and keyboards is the possibly insane Lloyd Mills, geeing the crowd up at any of their recent London shows. Bass duties are handled by Mr Ant Rosher, pumping throbbing basslines into the faces of anyone who’ll listen. Real guitar hero Phil Williams provides the crunch n sheen that gives their badass sound some real balls whilst the inimitable Jon Moore pins it all down with his hammering drum sound.
MISSPINKSHOES are about extremes, they want to take you to that safe, warm place and hug you all night. Don’t get too comfortable though coz they’ll only tear your face off with next track.
Don’t be shy, have a listen and get your ass down to the next show coz it’s gonna go OFF!
Just a quick note to say thanks for coming down on Wednesday night to support our last night at The Clapham Grand. Really appreciate you all coming down.
